Cheerwine is a good soda, ever have that?

Nope. Can't say I've ever seen it. I see on Wikipedia that it's cherry-flavored. The description makes it sound tasty, but it doesn't look like it's available in Massachusetts.

This comic is pretty funny/cute. Which is surprising to me since most MLP fan comics are pretty bad.

Nice art from today's Drawfriend.

Anyway, I saw The Dark Knight Rises today. It was pretty great, but similar to The Avengers, lots of fun but not a whole lot of deep substance or anything. Nothing you really want to discuss after the movie, not like The Dark Knight was. I can't really say it was any worse than The Dark Knight though, just not as memorable.

Relevant: The Dark Mare Rises.

I *finally* got all traces of spambots off of my wiki, bar deletion/usermerge logs. Good riddance.

@ Syd: "You guys make the best mattress ever!"

Also, Bluespade, I actually thought that The Avengers was better than Dark Knight. Plus it suffered from the Spider Man 3 problem, even through all the foreshadowing that came with it.

@Marston:I dunno, I don't really look up the artists. I tend to just check out what gets linked here or on Eq Daily. It seems to me that the majority of fan comics are intended to be humorous, but completely fail to deliver a punchline, meander on pointlessly after the joke is made, or try to shill in too many references to canon/fanon, getting in the way of the humor.

@The Librarian: In terms of sheer enjoyment I would agree, the Avengers was more fun than The Dark Knight. But The Dark Knight is extremely memorable and succeeds on a deeper level than a simple fun action movie. Unfortunately it also dragged at times for the exact reasons it wound up so good as a drama.

I'm trying to think of a crack about how Spike has had a dream about this exact situation, only with three Raritys, and I can't think of how to phrase it.

Meh, I still think that all three of Christopher Nolan's Batman films are better then The Avengers. Don't get me wrong, The Avengers film was pretty good, it just doesn't seem to have as much appeal to me as Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy does.

I haven't seen TDKR yet, but I can kinda understand why. Part of what I liked about the first two (and the first Iron Man films) were that they seemed more rooted in a realistic universe. Once they started sticking superpowers in there everywhere it changed the tone quite a bit.
