They seem happy.

Admittedly, as scene in those "My Little Pony Scenes", this series took a lot of work. Everything was downright perfect, this shit is high quality, and I see many endless nights, and many crazy graphic tricks being pulled off by the animators. That they get recognition from people who can appreciate that, rather than merely enjoy it like kids do... I think it makes them happy. They care, and they care that people care that they care.

Compare that to J. J. Abrams, who doesn't give a shit about the audience, or Ryan Murphy, who doesn't give a shit about anything and is jsut entertaining himself. The MLP people are craftsmen and true artists, and the recognition must feel pretty damn good.

Get VirtualBox instead. It's free, and lets you run Windows (or Linux, or whatever) in parallel with your Mac stuff instead of dual-booting.

Yes. This decision was made in two hours with the poll eventually deciding AGAINST removing art. Most commentors who did suggest curbing the deviations decided for "better quality control".

Beter quality control is a good thing. Removing or banning OCs is not - see BambooDog's contour series.

If you claim to be the biggest Friendship is magic group you can't just throw out such a large portion of fan art.

And I agree on better quality control too. Makes actually getting accepted into the group much more meaningful.

Yeah, been following that group for months. I don't get what people have against original characters. What's wrong with using your own imagination to create things? Personally, if I make a story, I never use other people's characters.

Why do some people hate OC's anyways? Bad drawings being listed, I can understand. But just because they're not emotionally involved with the character..?

Because in the mind of some people, Original Character = Mary Sue.

I hate that mentality. And can you really make a Mary Sue within one devation? All you can get to is the basic character description and in MLP that usually centers around the ONE SPECIFIC talent represented by the cutie mark.
