Flanderization is when the writers of the show inflate the superficial parts of the personality of a character to the point where they're a caricature of their original self. This doesn't apply to Derpy because 1: she doesn't have a cannon personality to inflate in the first place, 2: the writers have done nothing with her character. The only actual cannon things we know about her is that she's a mail pony and sometimes has derpy eyes

Anyway, I think she was written into that part before fanon could get to her, but it reached the team in time for them to derp her eyes.

Also, Ponychan is way too sensitive. They didn't all take well to my "What's the difference between little ponies and pound puppies?" joke, and the thread got deleted.

I think at least half the posters expressed some degree of disgust.

Which I find very odd considering this is the same fandom that spawned Cupcakes, Scootabuse, and all kinds of weird-ass shipping and 34.

I...will admit, I found the joke pretty darn funny. I don't know what context your 'puppy rape bunker' was in, but that may have been too far, yes.

@Deathonabun, bottom of last page, I haven't read that fic, but I still believe I can say with some degree of certainty, it can't be as bad as Today, Tomorrow and Forever

Oh god, that was pretty damn sad too.

Though really, the saddest fic I've read so far was the two parter of "Ships That Pass In The Night" and "The Three Letters".

Ships isn't too sad a story, but Letters got me bawling like a baby. Seriously, not exaggerating.
