Guys? If anyone's an anime fan, I have a question...

What's an appropriate manga for a seven year old?
Do it, Rockapella!

I don't know much about anime or manga, but I imagine there would be some kind of content warning. Like, American comics have ratings for what age it is appropriate for.

Not Negima. I learned that the hard way. Basically, I saw an older friend of mine that had it in school, I thought it was shonen, asked for it for Christmas, got it, and it ended up being what I think is Ecchi (very softcore porn, right?)

I am not very good at this sort of thing, though. I let my 9 year old sister watch anything with me as long as there's no sex.

She likes the Cupcakes video, by the way.

I am a horrible babysitter.

Well, I suggested to him Yotsuba, and the Pokemon Black/White manga.

@Gex: Negima IS shounen. Very Fanservice heavy shounen. It isn't porn, just a lot of Naked People Are Funny and Not What It Looks Like. It does have a pretty kickass Myth Arc when you get past the first few volumes (and unfortunately ends with a Torch the Franchise and Run). But yeah, not suitable for children.

The only series I can think of that really fits there is maybe Yotsuba&!, or Chi's Sweet Home. Other than those, I got nothing.

Cardcaptor Sakura. Simples.
Always more Hufflepuff bones to sharpen.

I would be all over one of those like suck on a Lily Allen song - Inverurie Jones.

I just had a bit of Fridge Brilliance about Discord's true motives.

A universe without chaos is a universe with uniform distribution of matter and absolutely no movement or change.

Discord is trying to prevent the heat death of the universe.
Can you cool it with the Karn puns, Zennistrad? No problem. They were kinda Karny anyway.

[up][up][up]Awesome theory.

Also, I read up on Negima, and Connie's right, it's not porn. It's just that it's a really perverted-looking shonen and I'm a prude.

@Super Gex - I abhor Negima. I read it all the way to the end (which was undoubtedly horrible) and was part of the fandom, but now I don't think there has been any worse waste of my time in my life.

I personally advise you to drop it now. It is not worth your time.

Also, does anyone recommend Shazbot: the Video Game?

Yeah, if I so much as see a panty shot, then I classify that entire work as porn.

I'd say it's a good game, sandraker.

My stance on fanservice is this:

If fanservice occurs in once every volume, or around 4 episodes, it's fine enough.

If not, its redeemable aspect, like awesomeness or general cleverness should clearly outweigh it.

But here is the thing; you cannot really expect anything truly great from any manga artist who crams tons of fanservice every chapter.

When it's equal opportunity, I can enjoy it, but usually it's not.

I don't really enjoy fanservice. *shrug*

Well, I'm especially prudish towards breast size. If I see anthro or humanization on Derpi with a D-cup or bigger, I downvote it and tag it as suggestive.

Don't we have a picture on This Very Wiki of a little kid getting Neon Genesis Evanglion for Christmas?

@Loose Canon - Same here.

I hate overly large breasts. I am quite interested in human physiology and anything that defies it makes me rage.
