I still think it's weird how you kids these days seem to shun fancy new systems and games and instead stick to old, retro stuff you shouldn't even know about.

Shouldn't you be playing Call of Duty or Skyrim or something!

Play Planescape: Torment. That game has more atmosphere than everything Bioware ever produced, combined.

[up][up]I found my time with Skyrim tedious, and my time in Call of Duty uneventful. I do enjoy modern games though, such as the Sonic series, Kid Icarus Uprising, Brutal Legend, Scott Pilgrim The Game, etc.

Modern games suck. And not because I'm a hipster. More because I can't afford to even think about looking at them lest my wallet evaporate.

[up]Yes, that's part of the reason I don't play many console games ATM.

Naw, modern games definitely don't suck. There are just a lot MORE of them than there used to be, which leads to a lot of crappy games being produced. That and nostalgia coloring our opinions of older games. Honestly almost every time I go back and play an old game I remember loving I end up really disappointed at how it has failed to stand up to the test of time.

@Gex: I'll definitely agree with you on Skyrim, I HATE all Bethesda games with a passion. I do like the Call of Duty series, but only the campaign, which tends to only last like 5 or 6 hours and therefore isn't worth purchasing a game for. I'm not the slightest bit interested in the multiplayer.

I had Call of Duty once, traded it in for Pokemon Black.

Had to buy it again for my cousin to play!

(Who was I to know I was gonna have to move into a house with a FPS fan?)

[up][up]Well, I did like the campaign in MW2 until the point where you need to get the information off the computer in that log cabin. I just ragequit at that point.

[up]I almost bought Pokeyman Black when I got my 3DS, but only because I thought that I was getting it for free.

Extra Credits suggested playing the Campaign of MW 3 as a satire/parody of those types of games. I really want to try this.

I can't stand Pokemon. It seems like everything wrong with turn based rpgs, no worthwhile story, no interesting characters, and boring, repetitive, mindless gameplay.

DISCLAIMER:I haven't played one since Gold.

Thing I can't stand but also really like about Dragon's Dogma #2: being unable to set up a camp and wait for daylight.

I'm a huge Pokémon fan, but the games are one of the many things that my apathy has taken the enjoyment from :| At least I still have WAAPT

Pokemon Black 2? Did they give up on their naming convention or something?

Nope. BW 2 are direct sequels within the same generation.

I think it's suppose to be a continuation of the events after the original Black/White.

^^^Yeah. On the other hand, B2/W2 are direct sequels, in the same region changed by the passage of time, so they may be just trying new things.

Achron and Bastion aren't retro, out of the games I've played recently.

Y'know what? I just realized why Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire aren't getting remakes in G5. The reason traces back to why Green/Red got remakes in the first place. There was no way to play the original games on a GBA, so remakes were made so the Kanto Pokemon could be attained in G3. B/W/B2/W2 are on DS, which can play GBA games. That means that G6, provided that it's on 3DS, will be the generation that gets the R/S remakes.

I figured this out despite only owning and playing one main Pokemon game in my life, SoulSilver.

GBA could play the original games. It's that you could link between the first 2 gens and gen 3 because of the overhaul of Pokémon data structure

Though, unless Gen V goes on for a while longer, I'm not expecting remakes for Ruby and Sapphire until Gen VI.

Finally finished my 30+ minute battle against a dragon in Dragon's Dogma. That game really tries to make things epic. But I think the exceptionally long battles end up boring the player after awhile. They go much faster once you know how to deal with enemies/get to higher levels of course.

I would say that Michelle Creber is the most swagtastic VA on the show (even moreso than Tara Strong), but an anon on Derpibooru claimed to be bullied by her.
