But, seriously though, I'm not quite as interested in the season finale as I am with whatever they come up for the next season's first couple of episodes.

I have come to dislike this fandom more and more as time goes on.

"Love and tolerate" is nothing more than a passive-aggressive way of dealing with trolls, there is rampant creepiness and homophobia, shitty OCs, and endlessly flowing inanity.

Bronies are right at the size that allows for the greatest ratio of jackasses to everyone else. I try to sort of sit at the edge of the fandom so I can grab the good stuff (fanart, etc.) and avoid most of the drama crap.

Well I've rarely seen any of that, since I usually stick to Equestria Daily. The closest I've seen that fits Inane's description was in 4Chan/Everfree/Funnyjunk posts that I saw in Thread Simulators.

... Can I hug you? That is the most absolutely correct assessment of the fanbase I've read in a while. And it's all (sadly) true. Specially the homophobia part, which is frankly infuriating.

And that is exactly what I've been telling bronies everywhere, yet no one will pay attention to me.

Most of the worst crap is on ponychan, and ponibooru can go that route as well if you turn off the filters. Equestria Daily is usually okay. I don't touch ponychan, and I tend to stick to the safe side of ponibooru.

Really, the bronies on this site tend to be a lot more reasonable than in most other places. Even in the other thread, people tend to be pretty good about stuff when compared to the fandom at large.

Yeah, that is quite unfortunate. It probably doesn't help that even the guys who don't have any issues with m/m fic are still to disinterested in it to really care to much whether it's allowed.

My theory on the "Lesbians = attractive, male homosexuality = icky".

Heterosexual men are attracted to women. Lesbians are also attracted to women. Female homosexuality is no threat to a heterosexual male view that women are attractive and men are unattractive. So, looking at a romantic relationship between two women, a heterosexual man can be attracted to both people in that relationship. It's like male heterosexuality, but without icky unattractive men.

To echo what other posters are saying, this is why I stick to Equestria Daily and a few pony blogs. I have no desire to get involved in fandom warring and creepiness. I just want my awesome art and Dresden Files/ponies crossover.
