I just set the sad Pinkie Pie image as the background on my parents computer as a symbolism for how my mom wouldn't let me use this computer when mine wouldn't work, acting like I'd somehow ruin it using it for tonight, but my dad let me on.

So the hub is airing The Last Roundup for the first time since the Derpy debacle.

And it's (unsuprisingly) the edited version. :(

The thing I didn't really understand about the College Humor video is that it implies a toy would actually care about tea parties and mane-brushing or whatnot if it even had the capacity to. If toys had personalities, they'd probably automatically love you for giving money to their parent company and have few interests outside of that.

Come to think of it, a pretty common criticism of that video is that it's Toy Story 2 with ponies. I like to think that the guy is actually the bad guy from the film, and the reason the ponies are so upset is because it's a failsafe Hasbo programmed in to prevent people from stealing.

Seriously though, Toy Story is a cute series, but there's no reason a toy would give a lick about anything but money unless it was manufactured for a purpose besides that.

Your logic is faultless, my good sir. Truly you have something to teach us all about the psychology of living toys.

[up][up]Case in point: Small Soldiers move with actual design of living toys.

[up][up][up][up]Most common criticism is fact that video is just boring.

[up][up] As far as I know, I'm the only auhority on th subject in existence, as no-one else as done quite as much extensive research as me.

[up] The toys in Small Soldiers were a crime against nature.

That video was abhorrently bad. Not because of the idea behind it or the obvious trolling, but because it's the exact same goddamn joke we've already seen a million times, just animated differently.

Seriously, you could change my little pony in that video to anything and the joke would be the same. And it still wouldn't be funny.

[up] Excuse me, what's so wrong with bronies for you?

It's probably similar to how Star Trek fans absolutely despise Trekkies because of the association.

Which, really, is something I can get behind. There are people who like MLP aaand then there are bronies...

Oh yay, it's another one of those "I'm a fan of X, but I'm not a [word that means fan of X]" arguments.

I guess it's so much easier to hate people if you have a label to use for them.

It's basically the same as (a man) saying: "Me and my boyfriend agree that homosexuality is evil and gays are going to burn in hell! Good thing we're not those sick fucks!"

I hate it when people go saying "Oh, yeah, I love that show, but I'm not a fan".

That's called chickening out.

[up][up]I think it depends on how "brony" is defined. Some people simply use it for "anyone who likes the show and is outside of the target demographic", and others use it to mean "people who are obsessed with the show". Kinda like the difference between somebody who just happens to like Star Trek, and a hardcore Trekkie who collects memorabilia and attends conventions all the time. People who like the show but don't have a big obsession with it don't want to be lumped in with the more extreme portions of the fanbase.

There's a reason I don't label myself.

Am I a brony? I dunno, you tell me.
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.

You bring up exactly what's the problem: The self-labeling. Liking a show, well, nobody can say anything against that! But when it reaches the point of self-identification, well, then that's something different. Hence there is in fact a great difference between "I like MLP" and "I'm a brony". Even if you ignore all stereotypes associated with bronies, it would still make a large difference.

The problem being that when someone decides that to him or her, Bronies are those obsessed freaks, all the people who label themselves as Bronies but are not obsessed freaks are going to get ridiculed by him or her for no good reason.

That's why if people want to hate, they should hate fans of FIM who take to extremes, rather than hating a label.

I never said it was a good thing, just that it happens. I personally use the "anybody who likes the show that isn't a little girl" definition, just because that's kinda how the term originated.
