Odd thing about today's episode that's been buggering me for a while: Why aren't there any other passengers? I mean, you'd think trains leaving for Canterlot would at least have a couple ponies in them, but nope, no one else.

I'm more curious about why at the beginning they all inexplicably went to bed in the middle of the day.

I still can't get over the fact that they ate the cake.

But I need to ignore it; I need to remember that this is still a children's show, and no matter how seriously I want them to take it, it's still a kids show.

Anyways, I LOVED the silent film parody.

Yeah, the parodies were brilliant. Ninja donkey, away!

I really, really liked this episode.

The one glaring flaw is that them eating the cake was kind of a big deal, and given how decently they usually act I'm shocked any of them would enter something that was going to be entered into a contest. Especially without any motivation other than... Pinkie Pie is good at describing food?

Rainbow Dash (and Pinkie, of course, but she's oddly not particularly relevent) was the only one I could really believe would do that, and that's only because of how she acted in the cider episode. Even then, just barely.

But IT WAS STILL AWESOME. The little vignettes were brilliant.

"Oh god, are they doing the Bond thing? Yeah, they're doing the Bond thing."

Lol.. indeed he does. The train engineer is a filly magnet too I bet.

Particularly Rarity, it seems. Did you catch his expression when she said he'd look dapper in a tux? He looked like he'd never been complimented before in his life.

Though Rarity's mane at the time was pretty damn alluring.

Pff, Stallion magnet more like. Dat plot. Plus he had to find some way of apologizing to Promontory and the other train stallions for knocking them out of a job...

What I'm wondering is what Pony Joe was doing in Ponyville. Isn't his donut shop in Canterlot?

Picking up a rare local ingredient?

He's a spy. You never know what he might be up to.

Oh, this episode also made me notice something else, there are now three characters who have actual hooves! (Big Mac, Zecora, and Pony Joe, for those interested.)

Also, you don't have to write lines and pay the extra voice actress.

The parody shorts were absolutely amazing. Only Pinkie Pie

Dash doesn't surprise me too much, but I'm rather shocked that Fluttershy and Rarity of all ponies were in on it. Though Rarity's "confession" was priceless.

Loved this episode. The whole thing with Rarity's hair being worn differently was genius.

I heard someone mention somewhere else that there's a very good reason Applejack wasn't one of the guilty parties. If she was, the mystery would have been over in about four seconds.

I'll set my countdown to see how long that image is forced into a "meme" somewhere on the internet. Probably an advice animal spinoff.
