It's a good job that I wasn't drinking anything when Spike did the belly flop.

Because I would have done a massive Spit Take.

[up]I was expecting that. Lava being more like melded rock instead water.
Because he know I'm going to go out in this plane and I'm going to remove one of His creations from His universe.

One detail I really liked about this episode was the part where the teenage dragon suggested Spike was part pony, since that's totally been my theory for a long time.

I just found this bit of discord fanart utterly hilarious so I decided to share it.

Apparently the maker of this comic does a weekly thing the night before showings.

Overall I thought that the episode wasn't too bad, but it focused way too much on the teenage dragons and not enough on Spike's relationship with the ponies. I thought the costume was hilarious, though.

Re: Merriweather Williams

I thought Putting Your Hoof Down was alright. But I didn't particularly like any of the others.

I hope Peewee is here to stay, though. Spike might get a "responsibility of keeping a pet" episode.
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.
He said, "That's nowhere close enough, but it's a damn good start."

Me and the bf were just talking about that. I hope they keep him as a bit charachter too. But I am still really hoping for more Daring Do. She is dreamy :3

Aw, poor Spike. If only his greed took over again.

Well, the episode does make a point of showing that Spike is not like other dragons, and that this is kind of a good thing.

Oh, hello Fluid. I didn't know you went here.

I keep getting a mental image of Spike with two scimitars and an astral panther-cat-thing.

Hmm. Mixed feelings on this one. On one hand, everything leading up to the teenage dragons was gold. On the other, they were kind of an overdone gag; probably would've benefited from cutting one or two of their testosterone contests in favor of a bit of action from the adults.

The ending left me kind of...yeah. My Little Dragon: Child Abduction Is Magic. tongue

Ultimately, there's a certain amount of disappointment that was going to happen here, since it was for all practical purposes up against It Takes A Village and there was no way it was gonna top that.

It didn't come across like child abduction to me, more like adoption.

Well, the Phenoxis left without the egg and presumably didn't come back for it.

They were out defending their hatchlings. By the time they came back, everyone was gone.

I read it as more Spike simply having no means to get the egg back to the Phoenixes; he can't go back to the forest because of the dragons, and he probably has no clue where the birds are, so he decided it would be best to take care of it himself.

And I understand that much — there wasn't really a good option after the fact — just that it still winds up essentially being abduction.

I loved the Crackle gag.

I'm watching the "Baby Cakes" episode and I think it may be my favorite episode. I lol'd at Angel's face while he was waiting for Flutyershy.

For some reason, Spike now reminds me of Shadowchild. As in, his species isn't inherently a bunch of assholes, but most of them are either born feral or are raised by others of their kind.
