My only problem is that I can easily work on the dialogue but not the narrative. Somehow, I have trouble bringing those two together.

My weakness in writing is compiling my fragments and snippets and ideas into a coherent whole, at least uuntil I enter the groove and suddenly the manuscript mushrooms like crazy with page after page coming out of my ears.

I also think dialoge is easier that narrative.

My problem is I need more ways to descibe the individual ponies. Most of my story goes:

"Twilight Sparkle did such and such..."
"Applejack said 'Howdy y'all!'"
"Twilight replied by saying such and such."

And so on...

That kind of thing happens to me, too. I'll be going along, writing at a good clip when suddenly, I hit a wall. Then it starts up again and I feel like the story's writing itself.

I've been looking through the Mock War on ED that was linked on the last page.

So far, I'm displeased by the lack of an X-Com themed pic. There was a Starcraft II pic there, that's good. But no X-Com Ponies make me sad. There are only two X-Com pony pics in existence that I know of, and given the game's reputation, this makes me very upset.

Yes, I do think that this thread deserves more love. I also agree with those who say that the other thread has way too much drama {Too many people whinning about Derpy, for one example}.

I kinda wish there was a fanfiction thread that didn't have so much drama either.

That is SO unfair.

I don't feel inclined to believe that Derpy as the Doctor's companion would be like Rose Tyler. I feel that role would be more suited for Twilight Sparkle, but that's mostly because that magic overload she suffered once reminds me of when Rose became Bad Wolf.

NOW TO REVIVE A TOPIC I BROUGHT UP EARLIER!

With Derpy Hooves now confirmed as canon, it's only a matter of time before other fan-favorite background ponies get the same treatment, starting with the most popular (if I were to guess). Doctor Whooves has a zero chance, since that could cause some legal issues, so that would bring us to the third most-popular pony.

...Who I still need to identify. I'm inclined to believe that it's DJ PON 3, but with the fanbase ever-changing, I can't know for sure.

I'm having a hard time comparing Derpy to any of the New-Who companions. (And not having watched Old-Who, I'd have no idea about the companions from that era.)

Closest I can think of would maybe be a less aggressive Donna.

More ideas for My Little Metroid.

Oddly enough, I picture Twilight Sparkle as Dark Samus instead of sompony villainous like Nightmare Moon.

Fluttershy would be a Chozo or a Luminoth.

And Mother Brain's power form from Super would be Nightmare Moon.
