Who is your favorite background pony besides derpy hooves? For me it's DJ-pon3.

Fair enough. But I like something nice and peaceful because it means that the last thing that I see before going to bed is calm. Seeing that would be a shock to the system after closing everything down to head off.

Pft, what do you mean besides? I never much cared for Derpy. My favourite background pony is pokey pierce. Especially in Sweet and Elite - he looked so swanky, and just so gosh-darned cute in the jacket of his.

I like the unicorn stallion that was in Rainbow Dash's fan club in Mare Do Well. Too bad we haven't seen him since.

I also love a lot of the new ponies we got to see in Sweet And Elite!

The original versions of those faces were already pretty strange-looking, to me. And I think Pinkie makes the same face in "The Secret Of My Excess".

I think those pics are creepily awesome.

"May the Best Pet Win" had lots of those faces. Here's why they look "off" (at least in my opinion): when the characters are facing the "camera" directly, their faces become flat, and their muzzles vanish.

We need a name for those shots. "Flatface"s?

Well, Ponibooru is already referring to it colloquially as "FAIC", so I'm gonna go with that.

There's a special place in my heart for Sheriff Silverstar. I know, he's not technically a background pony, but I don't care.

He's honorable. And badass.

I've been thinking about this and I wonder how you all felt about it: If you lived in Equestria, what city would you live in, what would your job be, and if you lived in Ponyville, what team would you be on for Winter Wrap Up?

My Author Avatar, Quill Inkwell, lives in Canterlot where he is a student. His dream is to be the Royal Scribe/Librarian. If he lived in Ponyville, he would be on the animal team, making sure the animals have enough food.

I should write some kind of story for my OC (who only exists currently as an image file and the name of my tumblr account).

Also, a lot of people are crossing him over with Ellis from Left 4 Dead.

See, if'n she was an ORDINARY lil' filly, that'd be the enda' the story, but naw- while she was flirtin' with ol' BM, he was like Pinkie Pie, you can't possibly eat ALL of them cakes" an' she was like "NO MAC, I CAN EAT ALL THEM CAKES" an' then she- whuzzat? not the time? Sorry."

I came up with some ideas, but I have doubts about them since I don't feel that they fit in with canon. I know that such stories exist out of canon, but departing so far from it makes me feel uneasy...

One idea I had was for a pony version of The Empire called the Nightmares. They were malevolent beings that desired to conquer and enslave Equestria, and rule over all ponykind with an iron hoof. The idea is that the Nightmares and the three pony clans had fought a great war thousands of years ago. Equestria had defeated them in the end and banished them from the world, but the ravages of the war had virtually destroyed their kingdoms. In the years that would past, they would rebuild Equestria, gradually becoming what it is today.

I had so many more ideas based on this. In the story, Discord was originally a Nightmare who was a major military leader, but because of the atrocities he commited, Celestia cursed him with the Draconequus form he has today. I had also planned to provide backstories for the rise and fall of Equestria, the three pony clans and the creation of the Elements of Harmony.
