Not sure how I feel about having 5 episodes per DVD, when they can just release a complete season. Probably trying to target the younger audience with the DVD volumes, then they'll releases complete season collections after they release these.

I might buy them, but I doubt I will. Text books take all my money I don't spend on games.

That's just the thing: they can't release a full season. There was an FAQ with the company behind the DVD release, and they said that stores won't bother with season packs of girl shows. Those things don't sell enough to be worth carrying, in general.

If the five-episode disks sell well, maybe something may happen. We'll see.

So wait, they won't sell season packs, but they'll sell parts of it that cost almost as much but have less stuff?

All children's shows do this sort of thing, because they can get away with it.

And it annoys me to no end. If they had them in season box sets, I could afford them but, lolbroke.

It's not trying to get away with the cost that's bothering me. It's the notion that if a "girl's show" doesn't warrant a season set because they don't think there's sufficient demand, what makes them think selling it in a way that ultimately makes it more expensive will fare any better?

Ah, but see, here's the thing. It does make more sense in our case. Because Hasbro knows about us, and we know they know about us. So they're doing it because they're is enough demand for it.

I have no actual data to base this on, but here's how I think the people in charge see this situation:

Little kids don't want big box sets. Little kids see Ponies (or Barbie, or Bakugan, or what have you) on the DVD shelf of a toy store, they want ponies (etc). They don't care about whether it's one episode or twenty-six, because they're just dumb kids. However, parents aren't going to pay 40$/€ for some momentary impulse their kids get. And besides, the kids will probably get bored of it around the fifth episode.

Best sell the show to them in small doses. The parents are more likely to buy them, because the individual boxes are cheaper.

But I thought it was previously stated that they are not, in fact, cheaper.

(I wouldn't know, personally, being in a way different corner of the world.)
I took a guess and cut a portion out of my heart.

Kyler: Technically, a 5 episode set is cheaper than a full box set, it's just in compilation with all the others that it's not.

Cheaper per box, not cheaper per episode.

's okay. Nothing that special.

Anyways, you know how sometimes two things that are individually awesome just don't mix together to create double-awesome? Well, here's a case where that does not apply!

^Yes, very good. It's about time someone mixed Evil dead with mlp:fim.

How does the upcoming episode sound to you? I think it should be pretty intresting to see what kind of pet dashie gets. I also have to wonder what the moral will be. I mean, what kind of moral can you get out of a pet race episode?

Also, I just have to wait 2 more days untill I can finally go back to ponibooru and I will finally be able to see all these images you guys keep linking {If your wondering why I can't go to ponibooru, click a few pages back on this forum}. Sorry if I'm annoying anybody with me constantly reminding you of my ponibooru ban, I just can't wait to go back there, thats all.

Has anyone else followed Fallout Equestria story? It even has an audiobook done to it. It is quite amazing. It is based on the Fallout video game universe only set with ponies.

Eeeyep. I have been following that story for a while now. I'm currently on chapter 26. I haven't even read all the chapters yet, and I think it might be the best mlp:fim fanfic, as well as one of the best fanfics I've ever read.

That fic has its own thread at New Media.

I'm not particularly hyped for tomorrow's episode. What I am excited for is the one after that! PONY SUPERHEROES, FOLKS!

I never actually finished a Fallout, so I'm hesitant on reading it. Do just need a basic knowledge of Fallout, or a deeper understanding of it?

Also, I thought this cover of Winter Wrap Up was good, if a bit sloppy at points.

I'm sure playing Fallout would be good, but the only knowledge I had of it was watching my friend play Fallout: New Vegas and hearing him talk about the game world's history a bit. It was still awesome.

I'd always meant to pick up Fallout New Vegas, but never really had the time to play it. I'll stil probably try reading Fallout Equestria, I'm a sucker for Sci-Fi/Adventure stuff.
