That actually occurred to me, too — wouldn't that be a twist, if
Discord was the force that corrupted her to NMM in the first place. It certainly seems to fit with the idea of an evil force corrupting Luna using her own jealousy and insecurity, which is what Faust has stated she imagines happening, if I'm not mistaken.
@Kuro: Actually,
all her lies in S 2 E 1 are to deny what's happening around her — namely, the fight and split-up of her friend group. The difference might be that now she's in denial — she's lying to herself, rather than before, when she knew she was lying, but it was for an ultimately good cause.
