Greetings compatriots, I continue to do absolutely nothing productive today for the siren call of Doctor Who audio Dramas and Oblivion is too strong. However now that I am home I plan to lay my sorry keister down with a few movies before me and get to drawing. Speaking of movie, or was Daredevil not that bad, just fascinating and a bit dull? It was no masterpiece but I was at least engaged.

Shooting ranges are boring, because it's not shooting guns that's fun. It's shooting things with guns, and all ranges have are those boring paper targets.

Skeets, models, interesting dirt clods, all of those make for interesting targets and fun field puzzles and tests of skill, but ranges are just boring as all get-out.

It's been done. Someone referenced that just a few days ago IIRC.

Fun fact about guns: the leading cause of gun death is suicide. So having a gun is actually harmful, statistically speaking.

I enjoy shooting the lightweight stuff. It's not terribly hard on your body, and competing with friends to put holes in a small circle is always fun. Not to mention shooting other things like full soda cans or heavy duty water bottles. Did you know high-quality Nalgene water bottles are almost bulletproof? Small caliber rounds only put a dent in them. One of my friends even shot one with crossbow once, and the bolt got stuck halfway through. Those things are tough as hell.

@Story: They're fairly common in Japanese media, but as far as I know, Japan has pretty tight gun control laws. I think they might even be illegal if you're a civilian.
