Most of the time, different art styles get used in Rashomon style episdoes, so...

  • Pinkie can have that felt thing from A Friend in Deed

  • Fluttershy's would look like a Monet painting

  • Twilight would have an extremely technical scientific diagram with cross-sections and complex equations

  • Rarity's would be one of her fashion sketches

  • RD's would either be a Totally Radical 90s cartoon or an over the top anime

  • AJ would get a Pulp western style

They sort of already had different art styles in MM Mystery. And now CDRW too deserts us.

@Story Those weren't different art styles. Just different filters at the most. The only true Art Shift in the show was Pinkie's felt bit.

I don't know if I'd dare open this present. O.O

Lyra has an unfair advantage here.

That's already a handicap for her. She's not even using her hands.

@story: I did mention MM Mystery earlier. tongue Like Lurker said, that's not really a complete change of art style, just filters.

So, do you guys consider this show a Guilty Pleasure or not?
I don't feel guilty about liking it, so no. But I can see why some people would feel guilty.

You know what comics I recommend? The Sandman, Y The Last Man, and All-Star Superman.
I'd recommend Bone and Hellboy (plus its spinoff B.P.R.D.).

Y'know what would be an interesting, yet strange scenario? If one of the ponies became the size of a building.
Drinking Brawndo is like RIDING A PONY! Which probably sounds not-dangerous except that the pony is 300 FEET TALL AND COVERED IN CHAINSAWS!

Another fun note on the subject of art shifts is that the simplistic, doll-like figures in the BBBFF reprise in the finale actually isn't technically an Art Shift. If you pay attention, Twilight is actually creating and animating those figures herself with a spell, so we are still seeing things exactly as they are in-universe.

I don't feel guilty either, I just don't like having to go through the situation of explaining it to people.

At first I tried to hide it but I don't think I was sucessful at all. After a while I just stopped caring.

Considering how fast the Internet is, the guilty pleasure discussion is Triassic now. Heck, what in responding to is probably 1 BCE by now.

I don't feel an overwhelming urge to tell everyone I know that I watch the series, but if someone straight-up asks me if I do, I won't quibble and I won't apologize.

I've never tried. There's enough people doing that already.

Come to think of it, I am using a Twilight Sparkle avatar over on another forum (music-related). No one there has commented on it at all.

I don't go out of my way to bring it up, but I have watched it during break and lunch at school and tried my best to explain it when people asked
