Also now I'm really curious about whether season 3 will have a Myth Arc or not.

My is that part of Season Three involves helping Cadence reclaim her Crystal Empire throne.

About story arcs: I don't believe they'll do because the show still is Aesop-driven

It's from a recent toy line with shiny translucent ponies.

There's also more train cars for the Friendship Express, Sweetie's dessert car and Fluttershy's animal car.

I'm really not sure what to expect. I do think that they could manage to pull off a recurring arc while maintaining the moral-driven episodes, but I'm on the fence as to whether they actually will. My best guess would be that the Crystal Empire is something that will show up in the premier or finale for 2 or 3 episodes.

I like how the show is mostly slice-of-life-ish, and I don't want that to change. That is, I don't really want it to be arc-y.

I would, however, love to see an epic adventure or somesuch in a movie adaptation.

I WOULD enjoy an arc, if it's well done. I just don't see that happening now.

@Kyler: That's pretty much how I feel about it. I'd like to see how the show tackles a more adventurous plotline, but I don't want them to overhaul the status quo to do it. I find the day to day character interactions just as entertaining, if not moreso.

Pony OVA episodes mmmmmm yeeeeeessssss.

@Applelight: It's an upcoming sub-series of toys with Cadance on its logo. Its description says "Welcome to the Crystal Empire, a magical place full of hidden secrets! The ponies shine and sparkle here!" and one of its toy sets' descriptions also says "Princess Celestia and Princess Luna believe that Princess Cadance will bring happiness to the Crystal Empire!"

@Ace: The new Friendship Express set is from the Pony Friends Forever sub-series, not the Crystal Empire sub-series (and the new train cars are actually recolors of Sweetie's dessert car and Fluttershy's animal car)

I'd love to see them do a Myth Arc of some sort and I don't think it's at all hard to believe that they could, as long as they keep it to a minimum. They could just have like 3 episodes across the whole season dealing with it at minimum. I kind of doubt the whole Crystal Empire thing is going to be the season finale focus though, because it seems that Shiny and Cadance have some kind of connection to it. I doubt they'd repeat another season finale being about the married couple. Maybe they'll show up in the first episode.

@Gex:Hey, sorry to hear about your dog as well.

Look at how they got the GGG arc done. First Ticket Master, then Suited For Success, then Best Night Ever. They could apply that technique to any arc really.

Yeah, the season opener would make a good place to put something with the Royal, uhh, Pair?

A myth arc would be nice. I actually really like he royal couple, so I'd really like to see them again.

I'd like to see Shiny and Cadance again too, but I think it would be best to just have them show up in the middle of the season somewhere when we wouldn't expect it.

Y'know what? I wonder how John DeLancie is going to show up in Season 3. I doubt that Discord would reappear, despite how popular he is. I think that he might just appear as another pony or villain.
