@Ace Your Shipping Goggles are on so tight that they appear to be warping your personal reality. It doesn't even mention Twilight in regards to the "friend or rival?" line.

@Ace: Perpetual Lurker is right. Twilight wasn't mentioned in that line. She could just as eaily be one for Rainbow Dash (that ship makes far more sense IMO).

EDIT: I think that Gilda/Pinkie and Discord have been the sole sources of Foe Yay so far. If you like pony Foe Yay though, you'll love Tick Tock.

Rarity/Trixie could also make sense and be funny. Not as much sense as Rainbow/Trixie, but funnier. Really, Twilight is the member of the Mane 6 which makes the least sense to ship with Trixie. And if you want to ship Twilight with an antagonist, there are better options. I like Trixie, but for what she is, not as a shipping tool.

There was one really neat Trixie fic where she befriended Derpy and saved Dinky and another unicorn colt from a Wild region kinda like the Everfree.

Yeah, I've actually been doing a bit of thinking about Trixie lately. I needed a third character, preferably a unicorn, for a fic, and Trixie fits the bill much more than any OC, so she'll end up there eventually.

A neat bit of personal fanon I've developed for her is that while her talent is magic, it is more specifically performance magic rather than just illusion like a lot of people peg her for. This means that she has potential to perform really powerful spells, but only if she can have an audience to impress and/or if she can play up the drama enough. Yes, that means that her magic is literally powered by ham.
