I guess they are the only canon married couples on the show, so it would make for some interesting interaction. You know, thinking about strangely uncommon types of canon (not necessarily shipping) pairings, I'm fairly sure that Thunder Lane and Rumble are the only canonical pair of brothers on the show as well. Kinda odd.

Well, AJ's extended family has plenty of happily married uncles and aunts too.
@CDRW: I was more picturing the fanon getting shot full of bullet holes by Cadence having more Common Alicorn babies, but having her kids run wild all over the house is probably canon. In before Shiny develops a new "baby pen" variant of his shield spell to keep the kids from wandering out of the house

There needs to be a scene in Season Three where the Sparkles mortify Shiny and Cadence by not-too-subtly hinting at their desire to have grandbabies

I prefer to think of Cadance as simply being young rather than anything lesser than Celestia/Luna, though fanon is fanon.

At that point though I'd question if Mr and Mrs. Cake even qualify. I mean, even in baby cakes they seem to have little character beyond being high-strung and worried about whatever the issue they're involved in is. I suppose it's because we always see them involved in BIG stuff by their standards, so it does make some sense. Still, they're lacking in characterization to a degree.

They have some neat characterization, IMO. They're practically nervous wrecks, and they put up with a lot of weird stuff, but they hide it all like a sort of non-sinister Stepford Smiler.
