If the rumored episode turns out to be true, I'd actually be impressed. A holiday based entirely around nighttime? Definitely the best time for a night goddess to show up.

And a Halloween episode? That would go a long way to explaining why there was such a delay between episodes 2 and 3.

And to be honest, although I'll miss all the fanon, I would love to have some canon imagery of her besides the Nightmare Moon fiasco. It might kill a lot of fanfics and fanart, but I've found fics where Apple Bloom wasn't related to Applejack, Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo were sisters, Twilight was an orphan adopted by Celestia, and not to mention all the fanon Discord threw under a bus. It's just an occupational hazard when writing for a show that's still in its infancy. You're at the whim of a production team that are still figuring out how all the pieces fit together. With Season 2, they've had enough time together to figure out how the setting works, and that will actually make it even easier to write and draw for. If we have to lose sad!Luna, then that's fine, as long as whatever they replace her with is good.

Just don't make her evil. Do not do that. That would be a kick in the face for everyone that had to sit through the pilot.

What notable fanon DID Discord throw under the bus anyway?

That Celestia and Luna created Equestria, as well as the theory that there were other bearers of the Elements of Harmony (aside from the Princesses).

EDIT: I also believe that there is now a canon explanation as to what the elements represent, but I didn't pay attention.

ONE MORE: Also, that mane 6 were not known as the ones who saved Equestria, as well the theory that they kept their elements with them.

Only all stuff about Discord is hilarious. All hype make him typical dark overlord. Even picture of black alicorn was used all time when Discord was discused (even Akinator had Discord with that picture).

The scene I've got in my head is the episode opening with the ponies getting ready for the holiday, and right before we cut to the opening song the screen pans over to Luna standing on a hilltop in her sith attire looking into town. Cue lightning.

I think the first one would ne better. It would be more mysterious.

I know I'm going off the current topic, but someone mentioned akinator and I wanted to see how quick it could guess Discord. At q. 8; it asked if the character was MLP related. At q 14; it guessed Discord. Well played. However, in between q. 8 and q. 14, it asked if the character was Korean.

I tried it again, this time I picked the Hydra. Q. 35: Does your character have a tail? Q. 36: Is it MLP related? Q. 37: Is it Pokemon related? (wut?) It figured it out, though there was no picture.

Anyway, back on topic. As I said many pages back; Luna's return will cause some backlash. I just hope it won't be huge. However, I think the fact that Luna will be in a Halloween episode is very fitting.
