Windigos are still around (you could hear one after the play) but there are very few of them and they don't find food sources very often.

I personally go with the headcanon that the windigo's all starved to death {The ones who wern't burned by the flames of friendship, that is

} after all three pony groups united and became friends, so unless the show itself says otherwise, I'm just going to assume that the Windigo's are all dead and have no chance of returning.

In my headcanon some of them are sealed away. Good idea for story.
