@Tiggers I'm a huge fan of Pearls Before Swine. I own all the treasuries, actually.

Anyway, I doubt Rat would be a brony. He has his moments (like that time Pig thought he was a butterfly and fell off the roof) but overall he's a jerkass. Also, I'm not sure the creator of the strip knows what a brony is.

@ginger What's wrong with newspapers, huh? Trying to destroy another industry, are you?

Pagetopper.

Uh yeah, I suppose, I know it was something I did all the time just to see what was worthy of becoming a newspaper comic. I used to want to try that out as a starting artist job. But then I realized you'd have to down your writing levels to mediocre in order to be of interest.

Heh. Used to read newspaper comics, back when we still got a newspaper. Used to read every single one that was in the paper. Even freaking Mallard Fillmore.

@Mousa: You've obviously never read Calvin and Hobbes or The Far Side. And there are still a few good ones out there. Zits and Pearls Before Swine come to mind. Foxtrot is pretty good too.

@JT The Far Side is good. Unfortunately, both that and Calvin and Hobbes have ended, and Foxtrot only makes Sunday strips now.

@Sky I'm not interested in reality, so newspapers never interested me

So you're not interested in news, but what's that got to do with the comics?
Can you tell me who you are? Can you tell me where I am?
I've forgotten how to see. I've forgotten if I can.

@Kyler I ain't buying a paper purely for comics.

I never bought papers, ergo, I never read the comics.

All the ones I HAVE read, I never got anyway sad

Get fuzzy was good, yeah. Well drawn, well written... and as someone who grew up with cats and dogs, frighteningly accurate.

Yeah, I liked Get Fuzzy a lot. It was funny. One strip that occurs to me is from a little arc in which Bucky gets a coonskin hat.

Rob: "Don't you think it's kinda... wrong, for you to be walking around in the skin of another animal?"

Bucky: "And that's different from your leather jacket how?"

Rob: "Well, I, um... go to your closet."

Ah, yes.

|Zits is another good one, though I find it sort of a curious beast. IT started in the 90's, making it very reminiscent of my early childhood... but by the time I got to reading it I was in my teens, making it feel both familiar and oddly dated.

Yeah, Zits is a good one too. I like how it mocks both the teenagers and the parents rather than just focusing on one side of the thing.

Plus the absurdity of the teenage mindset makes for good humour even without mocking. One of my favourites is when Jeremy goes into a restaurant advertising 'no shoes, no shirt, no service' with his shoes on his hands and his shirt tied around his neck, then jokes that he should sue when they kick him out. My parents thought I was having an attack I was laughing so hard.

I love Get Fuzzy. I haven't read Zits in ages, though.

@ginger You're on the Dark Pit chapter, right? Hopefully you get to use the Cherubot.

My sister, my mom, and my grandmother are watching Beethoven (the dog movie) in the background. This might just be Seinfeld Is Unfunny on my part, but oh God. So many cliches! But We Havent Learned Anything Yet, The Family for the Whole Family, Big Friendly Dog, Bumbling Dad, The Bully, Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy, and so much more. I've seen so many movies like this as an easily entertained padawan that it's not even amusing. There seriously needs to be a parody of these movies, let's call them 'babysitter movies' since that's pretty much the only reason most adults would want them. Or an Mulp-Fim movie to take away Disney Animation Studios and Pixar's monopoly on good family movies.

Sorry, but the way the tropes are played completely straight and the Tastes Like Diabetes nature just make it undesireable.

@ginger That's Dark Pit's theme. A lot of people like it, I think it sounds like Gerudo Valley. Personally, my favorite tune is Magnus' Theme.
