Wwell, since I don't know anythin' about Persona, I'll chat wwith keg a bit. =) Let's see... havve you seen Sora No Wwoto or Haibane-Renmei yet? They're kind a similar to each other, wwhich is good because they're both pretty excellent. Sora has a bit more fanservvice, I wwould say, but it's in cute Les Yay shipteasin' rather than anythin' sexual. If asked to choose, I'd go wwith Sora ovver Haibane, if only cause Sora is one a my favvorite series a all time.

Both look pretty interesting, Red. I'd likely go with Renmei first since I love things with slow tones, but they both sound interesting. I'll look into them, thanks.
I'm still willing to recommend you stuff, Ginger! though really, if you want more recommendations you might TRY some of the ones you get. I'm willing to try anything I'm given, but you shoot down a lot of things people suggest right off the bat.

That makes sense. I would recommend Transmetropolitan, since it's one of my favorite stories. It has antagonists in a good number of the story arcs, but a central villain doesn't really appear until later in the Second year of the comic. There are also a number of story arcs where the social system or the authorities act as the antagonist more than anything else, so I'm not sure how compelling you'd find it.

Im going to recommend out of the blue The Scrapped Princess Its an anime I stumbled across and enjoyed, I forget what I was actually looking for but I ended up with this instead and it was pretty good. It has Fantasy/Scifi and Post Apocalyptic elements.

I've been racking my brain trying to think of a good anime with a strong female cast. But despite having watched probably more than 3 dozen anime series and once being a HUGE fan, I can hardly think of any good animes I've seen.
