If you ask me, there's indications that ponies in
MLP: FIM age a lot differently from humans. The two-part episode that started this show indicates that Celestia and possibly Luna are at least 1000 years old. Still, it hasn't been stated if they can actually live forever.
Then there's the episode "Family Appreciation Day". We get to see Granny Smith as a young filly - and one of the founders of Ponyville. When you consider that she's an old mare now and that Ponyville was founded supposedly a few hundred years, it would indicate that Granny is a few hundred years old.
Oh, Lauren Faust, we stand on guard for thee!
Actually I don't think it was ever explicitly stated when ponyville was founded. I suspect it was founded about 75 years ago.

@Orion and there's no way to tell if he's a pegasus, a unicorn, or an Earth Pony. Whenever he makes reference to what race he is, the subtitle "As far as YOU know" comes up
