@Death I've pretty much learned that there are no villains I'm allowed to like in PH, because they all either pull Heel Face Turns, turn out to not be as bad as I thought, or have pitiful breakdowns

@drenius I just wish he could've BEEN a straight up Evilutionary Biologist. Obsessed with his work, trying to find the ultimate lifeform. That would've been refreshingly simple.

I'd actually find that sort of character a little flat, Ginger. But I could see the appeal of an old-fashioned straightforward villain.

The story is wailing me across the head with antagonists that I'm not allowed to hate. Gray and Grey Morality is KILLING me here. I just want A villain who's just pure black but still competent.

Actually, y'know what the problem is for me? That their sympathetic motives are always a big reveal and until then we're LEAD to believe that they're pure evil.

With Red Eye, I knew he was sympathetic right from the off, the story didn't try to mislead me in that regard.
