I found Pinkie really annoying at first, but she grew on me. I still prefer most of (and possibly all of) the rest of the mane six. My favourite is Twilight (which is unusual for me as I tend to not like the protagonist the most) with Fluttershy being a close second. I didn't like Rarity at first either, but I really identified with her in Suited for Success which helped (still prefer the others though).

Party of One definitely improved Pinkie for me.

Not sure if it quite made up for Feeling Pinkie Keen though

I actually spent the first five episodes half-convinced Rarity's name was Vanity, and it was persistent in my head until "Suited For Success". I've really started to like her, though.

Pinkie's not really anywhere on my scale of favorites for the girls, mostly because it's such a close race I can't really sit down and point to who outranks who.

I do dislike ranking them as well

The only ones I have solid are AJ at the top, and Pinkie at the bottom

Sorting out the ones inbetween is really hard

Lauren Faust posted some of her sketches from the pitch bible on her DeviantArt account; one of them was pegasis-Pinkie... with a sugar rush. Or, as Ms. Faust puts it, "With Pinkie working at the Sugarcube Corner, I imagined she had waaaaaay too much access to sweets which would send her wings into hummingbird mode."

And Pinkie Pie is awesome because she's such an effective comic relief. In the hands of a poor writer, however, she can easily become overused and overbearing, which will annoy people. The trick is to use her strategically, particularly to deflate overly sentimental or frightening moments, such as the end of the series premiere.

Given that unicorns are restricted to using magic on situations within their theme, this would create Pinkie Pie with ultimate power over weirdness, hyperactivity, and cake.

Yeah, when I first saw the URL I had a mental image of Twilight studying up to give Granny Smith a magical hip replacement as a favour to Applejack.

Now I'm picturing that as the way she breaks Applejack from the spell. Forget countering it with a memory spell, she'll just be so touched by Twi's gift, she'll snap out of it herself!

I liked PP from start just like rest of Mane Cast. She is not my fav, but I like her more that Flutershy and Rarity. I don't understand why liking AJ is reason to hate PP.

That Mad video, I like it. I wish to see Cowboys and Aliens before so it could be more funny.

In Season 1 Pinkie mostly cheered up, annoyed or weirded out a random member of the Mane Six whenever she felt like it. I don't think she had any particularly developed relationships other than with Gummy (Fanpics with Pinkie and Twi have either tended to be an Opposites Attract or Pair the Spares deal).

Actually, I think the only relationship that was given any significant focus was Applejack's rivalry with Rainbow Dash, unless we want to infer a lot of things from Rarity's interactions with Fluttershy during her special episode.

It's because Pinkie's weirdness overshasdows AJ's Badass Normality. They're both Earth Ponies, yet Pinkie can somehow do a lot more than her (even though it's covered by Rule of Funny)

I saw that someone else on That Guy With The Glasses made a video on this show but I'm afraid to watch it.

I don't see how she overshadow her. Especialy if PP powers don't do anything more that be a gag even her canon Pinkie Sense. AJ do more with her skills like saving other ponies lifes, including saving Pinkie life in Pinkie Sense episode. AJ is even better baker than PP.

That video of CR is awesome, his my favorite TGWTG critic. Best part is action montage, SW shoutout and TF 2 shout out.
