I can see the potential for awkward slapstick

I'm not sure I'm getting the "flimsy conflict" It's been shown in the past that Twilight freaks out over relatively minor stuff

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

@the guy who thought the Twilight episode would be bad

Yeah, I can see how easily it would be to make that suck. "Pinkie Keen" was too stereotypical cartoonish for me, and they have quite a few breakdowns. I'm trying to think of a good way to make that episode, but I'm not coming up with one.

Whether its flimsy or not will ultimately depend on what the scale of Twilight's "panic" is. If this somehow ends with her in a bodycast of Ponyville in flames (and really this is not something I would put past the writers) I'll just role my eyes.

Now that I think about it, our Manehattan is called MA Nhattan.

That's a good one to fool around with. I still remember reading the synopsis for the Super Mario Brothers Movie that mentioned the city of DIN Ohattan.

Hey, even My Little Pony Tales did something like that once: They had a royal family come in from the Isle of Pony.

Look at us, the writers try to do something different that plays around with the idea of having morals forced into their cartoons and we start bitching about it before it even airs.

I was never under the impression that Celestia expected constant friendship updates (although she did seem to assume that Twilight had one at the end of Swarm Of the Century, then again she could've deduced that she did after analyzing the situation with Pinkie and the parasprites).

So, is Celestia going to send her a letter saying what ammounts to: "Get off your ass, you haven't updated in weeks"? Or is Twilight gonna realize it herself?

Well, the only reason she's in Ponyville is because of her friends, and part of her deal to stay there is regular updates.

Ooh, I can see this degenerating into a "Learn to say goodbye to your friends" moral that gets averted at the last minute.
