Speaking of memes, it really annoys me when people say 20% cooler in 10 seconds flat. They're bad enough by themselves, but when you put it together like that, it makes you look like an idiot.

Wasn't Lincoln also a vampire in that movie? I haven't seen it.

Is that the movie where Lincoln has an Uzi or am I thinking of another famous popculture reference?

Lincoln was also the guy who said, "The trouble with quotes on the Internet is that you can never know if they are genuine."

Abe was one cool dude. coolwink

@CDRW Well, Fallout Equestria levels of Gore would certainly be Mature, but if you try to imply nasty things rather than outright describe them, you should be able to pull off a teen rating.

There are two Abe movies in the works: The Spielberg Biopic and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

The Vampire Hunter one is based on a book by the same person who wrote Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, IIRC, so it's not quite as random as it first appears.

So, some of the people on Drawception have a mascot named Trouble Muffin. It was just a matter of time.

There is no Golden Compass in His Dark Materials.

The Alethiometer. I believe it was described as looking like, well...

I think the person is complaining about the name change from Northern Lights (the original title of the first book) to The Golden Compass (for its release in Murka).

Of course, a title change is the least of its problems.

And the Amber Spyglass isn't exactly a spyglass so much as a Dust-scope.

That reminds me - the first time I heard about John Carter, it was descrbied as "A veteran of the American civil war is somehow transported to Mars, forced to wear a loin cloth and confronted with a succession of monsters."

It made a lot more sense when I found out it was based on a popular book series.

I think it's a good name. It's thematic with the others, and it's an admittedly very... poetic way of referring to the plot-driving item.

One could make a case for Northern Lights, considering the event that happens at the extreme end of the book, though.
