Oh, cool. I like the idea of an Equestrian Military. Even though I'm a pacifist irl.

Btw, the plot of this episode is kind of strange... the dragon is producing enough smoke to cover all of Equestria, blocking out the sun and causing catastrophe for the entire place. Plus he's supposedly going to sleep for a hundred years. The ponies solution to the problem is to get him to go sleep somewhere harmless... but where is he supposed to go? If his smoke really covers such a huge area, there's basically no where he could go that wouldn't ruin the environment of someone. I suppose he could go to some Mordor looking place that's already ruined, or a desert or something, but it really seems like there isn't a lot of options here.

@Blue: They really don't care where he goes, so long as it's away. They're only looking for a 'not our problem' solution.

the equestrians are not terribly socially conscious.

Regarding Soarin's dress uniform, I also noticed it's designed based on the Canadian airforce, and his uniform designates him as(if I recall correctly) a major, which is the second-in-command of a squadron. which is a nice little detail, there.

I really don't get why people still get confused over whether or not Equestria is a country or world. This episode (and many others) make it explicitly clear that Equestria is just a country.
