Villains, huh? Well I'm more in favor of more new villains showing up as opposed to returning villains.

If they do decided to have another big season opening/ending I'm actually hoping for somepony who is actually not demi-god like (or outright god-like) but is still poses a threat.

Eh, despite being inspired by Q, Discord isn't that much like him. Q was rarely outright malicious, typically only testing and toying with the protagonists. Discord, on the other hand had chaos and destruction as his first priority, and was most certainly malicious in his actions.

You think it would behoove (no pun intended) the creative team to make Discord more Q-esque if they decide to bring him back? I just don't see it working out otherwise as a recurring character.

It could work. Maybe then will finally see another unicorn that could compete with Twilight magically.

About the Sweet and Elite discussion from a little ways back: The inconsistent, inexplicable social status of the Mane 6 is one of those things that actually repeatedly annoys me. Sometimes they're famous, sometimes they're loved by all, sometimes no one knows who they are, sometimes they're disrespected and looked down on by everyone... at this point everyone in Ponyville should know who they are, and most everyone in Canterlot. I mean Celestia gave them an official award ceremony after they defeated Discord, in front of everyone.

Twilight is Celestia's one and only pupil. Rarity is a famous and respected fashion designer. Fluttershy is an ex-model who's fame was at it's peak when she quit. Rainbow Dash is the only pony in history to have performed the Sonic Rainboom more than once. Pinkie is...unforgettable. And AJ seems to feed half of ponyville with her farm, and is a famous athlete who's been awarded by the town on at least one occasion for saving it herself. Everyone should know who they are by now.

@Blue: If the creative team wants to keep the same slice of life structure that has been the backbone of this show then they really can't have the Mane Six achieve exceptional social status.

@ed: Basically, my idea is that Conformity turns other ponies into more of her. And speaking like that adds to the Borg imagery.

EDIT: @Blue: My fic's explaination is that basically, most ponies have a massive case of Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny! when it come to these things. If it wasn't directly relevant to you, you soon forget about it. You pretty much have to stay in the limeligh for other ponies to notice you.

Lots of times. Rainbow has been shown fame on numerous occasions, most notably in The Mysterious Mare Do Well and in Sonic Rainboom. Rarity has been approached by celebrities at least 3 times that I can recall and been known for her work, and Sweet and Elite made her famous in Canterlot. Fluttershy couldn't go out in public in Green Isn't Your Color without getting mobbed by adoring fans. As a group, they have publicly saved Ponyville from Nightmare Moon, Discord, a Dragon, and plenty of other threats.

@Mio:You can't have a Slice of Life show about famous people?

And now I gotta go to work.
