Cool. I've also been wondering about picking up Heavy Rain to read.
There are truly some hilariously frustrating deaths in this game. I once watched a particularly cruel one on a playthrough on the last stage.
Also, it must be noted that the bosses sound x10 more horrific/disgusting/scary/nauseating in the Japanese version, but they're still creepy as hell. (especially the fourth stage boss, BRRRR)
Oh you.

Okay, now that's just silly.
You watch movies.
I have a message from another time...

Guys, the John you are the zombies thing is not from Homestuck. Its a Doom fanfic meme. Anyway, I sure didn't stay gone long.I didn't expect my comment to actually spark a Catherine discussion. My feelings on that game are very complicated. Not sure I could recommend it to Ginger, because imo (unfortunately) the gameplay is definitely the games strongest point, and the gameplay is very challenging, cerebral, and frustrating, which I think pretty much describes Ginger's most hated kind of gameplay. The story had such potential, but it was unfortunately done very poorly.

One does not simply Watch a video game.
Unless of course it is Heavy Rain.

I watched the hell out of Metal Gear Solid 4. Until I realized how much I hated it.This guy knows. And they would always vote for something you hated.

I still wish they'd invent an interactive movie in the cinema which had multiple choice paths and such.
The audience would vote, then they'd tally it up and play the corresponding footage

Yeah, I had some grips with the story as well, but it worked, and the characters ere definitely interesting, even if I did find one minor character's backstory a bit over the top.
And personally some of the later bosses aren't as scary when they stop climbing after you and just float around. Still hard as hell though.
I knew the John thing was from somewhere, I just went along with the Homestuck idea because I'm a sheep.

Roger Corman did something to that effect with a few of his films, Ginger. He'd include the climax of the film on a separate reel and depending on how the audience voted, one ending or another would play.

@Blue True, but then I'd intentionally wait until there was a screening where I'm the only guy there

@Ginger:Well I do recommend it in general, I just didn't think you'd like it. I hated MSG4 because there was basically no gameplay, the characters were all ridiculous, unlikable, and thrown in purely for fanservice, the plot made no sense and was focused on cameoing every character and location in the entire series instead of telling a cohesive story, and becauseSnake looked dumb old.

I personally don't really see that kind of thing happening unless it occured during a QTE like scene from a video game where if you pick TH WRONG CHOISE U DIE OMG WHY DID U GO LEFT *beheaded*
If you liked Portal or Portal 2 it may be good for you. Besides completely different gameplay but still.

@Ginger:Otacon (and many, many other characters) were unlikable to me because they were basically just this huge pile of emotional problems that whined about everything which was supposed to make you feel sorry for them, but their tragedy was pretty much all they were and it was a transparent attempt to manipulate my feelings. I'd probably have liked them more if the plot of the game hadn't worked me up into a quiet rage, and if they would ever stop talking long enough to let me actually play the game for a bit.I didn't care about Ocelot in 4 (I did like the 2nd and 3rd games quite a bit though).
