Watched a couple more episodes of ATLA, didn't think "The Great Divide" was all that bad, a bit anvilicious but not the worst thing I've ever seen. I may not even notice the decanonization of it later on in the series. And now... sleep....

@Pannic While the singing is quite amazing, I really have trouble enjoying solo vocal pieces. A lot of my enjoyment of vocal music comes out of the power of a good choir, and a solo just doesn't have that for me.

It's not a solo, it's a duet.

It's good - the movement of the vocals is very nice(Assuming this to be the same one you sent me over skype), it's just... not all that moving, I guess?

I didn't know being meguka turns you into a pony.

I do admit, I liked how the resolution of that episode was Aang making stuff up. I thought that was a neat little twist on what's a fairly standard kid show plot.

Well, that's what I get for not listening for more than 30 seconds. In any case, it's all preferences. When I can't understand the lyrics, I'm in it for the harmonies. You don't get that out of a solo without amazing instrumental accompaniment. A duet can sometimes get it, but I still massively prefer 4+ part songs.

well that was an interesting episode. I'm kinda disappointed at the lack of pony diversity these last couple of episodes have had though. Friend in deed was all Pinkie, Putting your hoof Down was Pinkie, Rarity, and Flutershy, and now we had Pinkie and Twilight...

say, I'm seeing a pattern here...

Towards the end the characters who didn't get their own episode did, yeah.
