Yeah that's just how they feed, the whole court is right up your ally, they are all about plots, ploy's catspaws, and magnificent bastardry. The more skillfully you can manipulate people the higher your rank goes, and they are masters at it. The sex angle is never really played up excpet for occasional jokes...mostly at Harry's expense.

Speaking of the ages of the young ponies, I wonder how exactly Ponyville's school system works. My dad grew up going to a one-room schoolhouse, and there the teacher had separate work and lessons for each grade, lecturing different groups of students while the rest worked on worksheets and the like. Cheerilee doesn't seem to do that, and we know there are more children in Ponyville than there are in that class. I'd guess that each grade runs on a different schedule for school, allowing Cheerilee to fit them all in.

@ Ginger, no there is no "romance" with them, only seduction, they are literally allergic to actual love, they are about sex, not romance. If there prey actually fell in love with them they would be unable to feed from them.

Im willing to accept that there are different factions of Vampires that work differently, I just hate it when Vampires are depicted as humans with an iron deficiency.

A Vampire that has been alive for thousands of years is going to lose touch with humanity and probably isnt going to want to be all cuddly.

There is romance, but while central, especially at the start, it largely fades into the background over time once the more important parts (The Originals, The Tomb Vampires, The Founder's Conspiracy, The Ghost World) take center stage.

And the vampires are indeed young looking.

Aesthetic? and as to "young", nope the only White Court vamp that's ever described as looking young is Inari, and that's cause she IS young, she's only 19, and she's just a side character in one book, most of them look like late 20's to mid thirties, with Lord Raith (the head of the court) being rather middle age. though they are all ridiculously attractive.

@Moe Dantes: I guess it may be the reliance on the kid acting like on for the sake of an entertaining character. A lot of times a show tries to 'mature' a young character they end up rather dull or Sue-ish because so many of their defining flaws are based on being childish or bratty. I mean I like the CMC, but if you had them grow out of their impressionable quest for Cutie Marks what would they have left to their personalities?

I think to some extent though, a child will stay a child in places even under certain circumstances. I think Cardcaptor Sakura is a good example of a kid protagonist that matures and becomes more competent while still remaining realistically innocent and childlike in aspects. And of course there are some characters who just act young no matter how old they are.
