I think it's interesting that the Griffons have German names...beginning with g.

Two names is not enough as evidence for a pattern IMO.

Also, we have seen TWO gryphons. One who was a french stereotype, and one who wasn't... at all.

I personally wouldn't call that definitive enough to say that Fancy is the Gryphon native language.

Like I said, it's possible it's just a culture thing. The thought of not being able to recognize french is just sort of baffling to me.

Isn't the griffin myth German in origin?

@kegi We also don't know if there aren't several countries in that world which use a language that sounds similar to french, but that are all slightly different

Maybe AJ recognized it as one of the languages collectively used by the fancy ponies of canterlot and used an umbrella term in her panic

Yeah they gave the grey pegasus a better voice. IMO anyway.

I can't even remember what her second voice was. I downloaded the original, and only heard the edited version once.

You could build monuments to how little I care about the Derpy. So I didn't care about the voice

Truth told I only took notice because of the drama to begin with. I was vaguely disappointed they decided to go the stupid route, but given how in retrospect they totally didn't, I removed myself from the issue fairly quickly.

I think we can rule out any future Derpy appearances.

Full appearances for Lyra and Bonbon on the other hand......

@ Purple Dalek: Nah, griffins are an Ancient Greek thing. I wouldn't mind seeing an episode explaining where they came from.

Derpy's pretty cute, and those off-centre eyes sure make her noticeable! Personally, I think those folks who complain that she is an insult to people with mental disabilities have fallen victim to Political Correctness Gone Mad. I would argue that there's nothing wrong with her brain, it's her eyes!

I thought it was pretty sad how Applejack went to Manehattan and found out in short order that she had no hope of fitting in with the snobs there! Did those Manehattan relatives even appear in the very first episode? I'm willing to betcha they didn't!
