I really lucked out with my job, being able to work with my dad in software development. It's not quite game development, but we're actually getting really close to going into that. Our boss was playing Words With Friends, and being a designer, he started thinking about all of the interface and design issues with the game. He then decided "We could do that better, " so our next project once we get our current app out the door is to create a better word game. That should be interesting, even if it falls within that dreaded realm of "social games".

Here we go Stevebat. No single one is quite enough to appropriately convey the yesyesyes, but I think in aggregate these work.

I used to be interested in game design, but cybersecurity seems a lot more important. And I'm not very good at game design anyway.

Cybersecurity is a tricky thing, because nothing is truly secure so long as it has an internet connection and exchanges data, and if you present yourself as too much of a challenge, then you're only encouraging the hackers more. To be successful there, you have to cover as many avenues of entry as possible without drawing any attention to the fact that a lot of effort is being put into the security of a network.
@Kegi Yep. Right now, it looks like our current goal is to build a better word game. Not the most exciting thing in the world, but no one on our three man team has any real experience with game design beyond the fact that I'm a gamer.
We do have some killer ideas though.

Sorry. It is a contractual obligation that I throw one WTF picture into any compilation.

You have to be capable of cooking something without killing anyone and be able to talk to customers.
... I can't do either
dude, you put the burger/fries in the oven/deep frier, push a button, and take them out when the alarm goes off. You're not really cooking at all.
