I did say that "mare" meant both "woman" and, well, "mare" as in female horse. So why not just "mares"?

Yeah, it's not as bad here. But places like Ponibooru and Ponychan and even some of the comments on Equestria Daily can be rather jerky. Then again, those are mostly 4Channers pretending they're better than 4Chan.

That's an interesting idea! If the rest of the show's color palette was toned more like the Discorded ponies, I might actually agree with you that it was plausible. As it is, though, the more vibrant color palette looks more natural, so that's probably the better choice for 'natural'.

What are the popular fan names for the Discorded girls, by the way? The ones I prefer are Liarjack, Antie Pie, Flutterbitch, Vanity, and Rainbow Dash Away.

He took away her laughter by making it not fun anymore. Pinkie has been established as the sort who won't laugh at anyone. Even when pranking, she becomes concerned if she thinks she actually hurt someone. And now that she thinks everyone is laughing at HER it ruins things.
