@Ginger It encourages brain activity and massive frustration when you fail to grasp a simple puzzle

That second thing may be just me though.

well, it was certainly a lot more heavy handed than other episodes, so I can see how it would be controversial. Still fairly enjoyable.

The games represent possibility, exploration, expansion, growth, versatility. I think my dream game will be a combination of the Legend of Zelda and Oblivion.

When I imagine game versions of anything, I always imagine it in the Zelda system. In fact, i've been theorizing a non-violent stealth puzzle game using the zelda system for Doctor Who and the ideas are promising.
I analyze "Geek Culture" here.

I'd have enjoyed it a lot more if my favorite character hadn't been acting really out-of-character, but it was still an ok episode.

[up] Well Zelda elements would certainly improve the Elder Scrolls games at least.

I never got the appeal of Zelda.

I now wondering what Dalek porn would look like.

The Daleks have appeared in real life porn films. No, really.

Eh most people's issues were the heavyhandedness and the OOC-ness, especially how ponyville as whole felt OOC, with all the disasters..cliffs from no where that you would HAVE to be able to see before but couldn't, hydroelectric damn....MODERN CONSTRUCTION MACHINES!!!!!

But yeah that was the most fan-hated episdoe so the worst is over.

though odly though MMDW placed first when asked "Least liked" the one that actaully comes in last in "most Liked" is owls-well

My enjoyment of the Zelda games varies. I adored Twilight Princess and enjoyed Wind Waker, but found Ocarina of Time to be overall pretty meh. Part of it was hype backlash, but part of it was the ungodly levels of backtracking you wind up doing in the dungeons.

Some of the gameboy Four Swords games were pretty good too. I don't have much inclination to try that many of the newer or older ones, though.

I feel we have this "I never really understood the appeal of Zelda" conversation every week or so. I certainly understand the appeal, but I don't think the games themselves are very good. They're too simplistic and lack challenge.

Ive loved EVERY Zelda, though, Windwaker is the most flawed to me....the actaul game play is great, the looks are amazing, there is a TON right...but all the fucking sailing, and sailing, and stopping to trun the winf 45 degrees, then sailing some more, then MORE SAILING!!!!

Mostly, I feel alone in Zelda games. I don't like feeling alone sad

But it's not the good kind of alone like I feel when I play RE games, it's the kind of alone that makes me feel bored

@Seraphem: You will probably find more people who genuinely liked MMDW either for the Superhero pastiche or other things, while most people find Owls Well to be very boring and uninteresting. At least with MMDW there were strong feelings being thrown around, Owls Well doesn't inspire such feelings.

I think the only things I really consistently like about Lo Z games are the music and bosses.

@Blue: Again, that may vary from game to game. Since the major gameplay and challenges of Lo Z comes down to puzzles, and each game has a new major mechanic, how skillfully designed the puzzles are comes down to the game.

For example, I felt that Oo T never did quite enough with the time travel mechanic. It did a couple of things, but I felt like there probably could have been more, even if just for some sub-quests. Twilight Princess, however, made you make pretty extensive use of the wolf form and the twilight lands, and the puzzles were much more solidly designed I found.
