I don't know, the concept just struck me as rather strange, though if it's people living there by choice rather than not being able to afford/buy homes elsewhere then there isn't anything wrong with it. The gay community always seemed to give off a vibe of pushing for integration to me, though I don't exactly know what I'm talking about here, so I should probably shut up. tongue

Hmm. Humanized ponies? I prefer the kemonomimi approach and fat!Pinkie (what can I say, chubby genki girls are a kick in the teeth to preconceived notions).

Also, I prefer it when either Twilight Sparkle isn't white (not really fussed about the rest), everyone's skin tones match their pony coats, or both of the above.

Like official news within the fandom. Toy releases and stuff like that. Also, what's this about a brony documentary?

@Chariot In terms of toys, Hasbro's Comic-Con promo this year is Derpy, screwy eyes and all. There's even muffins on the box! There's also these, which mark the first time Granny Smith, Gilda, or a Wonderbolt have gotten a toy.

As for the documentary, John De Lancie decided that bronies are getting way too much bad press after he looked into the fandom, and decided to make a documentary at Bronycon this year to help shed some light on the issue and inform the general public. He's got Tara Strong and Lauren Faust on board with him, and the whole thing has been successfully funded through Kickstarter.

Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

@Lurker: No, you're right. In fact, most cities in Canada are doing things like phasing out gay bars and the like. We do lean in the direction of integration because, well, it makes us seem more normal and approachable. Gay districts usually formed in the middle of the last century when the world outside wasn't so friendly... safety in numbers, really.

And actually, La Village has a lot of money in it. The apartment is about 1, 860, and I'd found bigger apartments for cheaper in different places in the city. La Village is very close to downtown, so it's an expensive neighborhood. It's also one of the more touristy areas, making it that much more expensive. So it's not a matter of not having enough money or availability for elsewhere, certainly.

Still, there's something to be said for gay districts. They're very... helpful, for those first coming out. I wandered up to the gay district in Vancouver when I first did, and it was actually really helpful. I found it relaxing, and sort of informative. So while we lean to integration, there's a definite cause ofr them to exist.

So THATS this Lyra plushie I've been hearing about...

eh, I've seen worse.
XP granted for befriending a giant magical spider!

Yeah, it doesn't seem that bad to me. It's just a plushie with an extra hole. There have been far worse things done.

Its too bad I can't stay here very long (In fact I am leaving.) Have a good weekend guys. Tomorrow is my Sis's Graduation which means I will NOT be on at all tomorrow.

In which I leave you food for thought: Why doesn't Hasbro realize that they could make millions billions with plushies and Show accurate toys?

They probably haven't figured out a way to mass produce them yet.

It costs a lot of money to set up mass production lines to even compare to the quality out of a good hand-stitched plushie. As for the toys, though, they're getting there.

#211773 from Appleloosa
Maybe they should just licensce it instead.

I wish they'd make more toys of common background ponies—I mean, yeah, it's nice to have an official name and description of Sunny Rays (a coat-recolor of common pony Merry May who appears at the beginning of "Look Before You Sleep"), but why does she have a brushable and a molded toy when around a third of the most frequently appearing background mares don't even have molded toys?
