Why do all my favorite episodes seem to be clumped together? The two of these are in my top four for season 1. I'm pretty sure that A Dog and Pony Show cemented Rarity as my favorite.

those two episodes conveted a LOT of people to liking rarity, those and Sweet and Elite are her at her best and worst. Yet for her, her worst kinda is her best, since the thing that really makes her stand out from the other Mane 6 is she's the one most aware of her flaws, and she activly tries to correct them, but just can't do it sometimes.

I think she's at her worst in Sonic Rainboom, actually. These episodes are better because she's fully aware of her own issues and tries to fix them without other ponies having to point it out to her.

I wan't that impressed back when I watched Dog and Pony Show, but everyone always praises it so much. Maybe I should go back and rewatch it some time.

@Ace: Goodnight.
@Seraphem: Well, yeah, but it took a near death experience to trigger it and it was only at the very end after spending most of the episode being an unrepentant Attention Whore. In Green Isn't Your Color and Sweet and Elite, she spends most of the episode struggling with her jerkish tendencies. I really like that self-awareness.

Sweet and Elite is one of my favorite season two episodes period. Rarity was great in that episode. Honestly, the only episode I didn't like her in was Sonic Rainboom, for ovbious reasons.

I really didn't like Rarity in the episode with Iron Will. I honestly think that one borders on Out Of Character-ness.

Rarity is probably my second favorite pony after Twilight for just that reason. I find her a lot more relatable due to the fact that she knows she has greedy jerkish tendencies, and consciously fights them. She isn't always successful, obviously, but she tries, and I think it makes her a lot more well rounded.
I didn't think they were that bad in PYHD. There were definitely some issues (Fluttershy turning into a jerk seemingly overnight), but I don't think they quite hit OOC. They definitely were nearing the limits of believability, though.
