Regarding the accusation of no love for earth ponies: if I truthfully thought it was best fit to my physical ability and personality, I'd have gone with it. But since they're implied to be strength and stamina oriented and both of those are rather poor for me, I'd have to say I'm nowhere near being an earth pony. I also don't really care for yard work, which takes their natural specialty out of the equation.
Something about race role in society◊.
Sure Unicorns are on top and Earth Ponies are on bottom (bad pokerface AJ).

They are like the others. Strange, hideous, resisting, fighting. Only these were not like the others. They did not die.

Who say Earth Ponies are inferior?
Because only them show up in places with hard condition for living, like Appleloosa. Other races have towns and cities only deep in Equestria.

Honestly, if I were ponified I'd probably be an Earth Pony.
Hey, any Darkfics in the MLP fandom that really creeped you out? Not counting Cupcakes, that's been done to death. Personally I was creeped out by Rainbow Factory.
Well, Here's what I'd look like as a pony.
Anyway, my take on the earth pony's specialties is that they either have some form of latent magic (like a natural Green Thumb or something), or they just have much greater physical strength and endurance than the other races. Unicorns are generally portrayed as having skills that have to do with either precision or intellect, while Pegasi also seem to have a greater emphasis on skill than earth ponies. Not that earth ponies are dumb or anything, but that their natural talents tend to lend themselves to practical areas.
