Derpy is a character with heavy flaws and heavy redeeming aspects, just like every other pony in the show.

I have an idea for a discussion. What kind of charectors do you think would make pretty good Evil counterparts to the mane 6? I think RD's counterpart would have to be an Expy of Starscream {Or G.1 Starscream to be more specific}, given his treacherous nature and all. Fluttershy's counterpart would probably be an abusive animal trainer, and Rarity's would be a corrupt and greedy business stallion/mare.

And please, try not to bring CRISIS Equestria into this discussion. I'd like to see more original ideas {Despite my idea not being all that original in the first place }, not just some fanfic.

I get very frustrated when characters who're established as not being all there have moments of genius (it's part of what I find so frustrating about Pinkie)

Mostly because it's very inconsistantly applied a lot of the time

I do, however, LOVE Ditzy Genius

As said before I think the Flim Flams make good Evil Counterparts to the Apples, smug dishonest con men more interested in churning in money than making a good product.

Gilda I suppose makes an interesting counterpart to Pinkie, even if she is more a Shadow Counterpart for Rainbow Dash. Has no sense of humor about herself outside sadistic pranks to innocent civilians, and generally not a people person.

Trixie is Twi's counterpart

That reminds me. We need to have a Tealove image that says 'It was under T(ea)!'

Vinyl is AJ's counterpart - modern vs rural, pale vs tan from the sun (at least that's the impression I'm getting), indoors and outdoors profession, cutie mark based on hobby passion rather than work passion, hat vs goggles (because they are totally opposites), magenta/red eyes vs green, and if what I've taken from fan works of Vinyl are true, she seems a bit unintentionally selfish like RD while AJ tends to be more selfless.

Absolclaw: RD herself makes a great counterpart/rival for AJ, even if there's a lot more Not so Different in the mix.

Trixie is hard to say, similar to the above two, there is some similarities, even if they weren't as profound in her episode. Twilight does have occasional ego problems, while Trixie wasn't that incompetent in magic, just she milked a lot more than what was true.

I wrote Derpy in my fic as genuinely wanting to be helpful more than anything else, but her lack of coordination means that she tends to cause more problems than she solves. She is entirely aware of this, though, so she settles for helping by brightening ponies days, making her kinda like Pinkie Pie in terms of goals, but completely different in terms of motivation. She's certainly not dumb, though.

Don't forget the character who deserves focus more than ANY other character right now.

Agreed. At least she gets the most fandom focus though.

I'd like to see more focus on Scootaloo's relationship with Rainbow Dash. I know Lauren didn't think RD would do that much good as a role model for her, but it would be interesting to see them gain more of a bond outside 'RD is so cool, etc'.

It's sorta ironic considering RD has had a fair few Cool Big Sis moments in the show, eg. with Pinkie Pie in Griffon The Brush Off and Fluttershy in Hurricane Fluttershy.

I'm respectful of Faust's directions however.

I would recommend you read my fic, because it kinda has that as the basic premise (except that it was caused by a Cosmic Retcon). Unfortunately, it doesn't have any villains yet, though I have a pretty cool one planned for the future.

Im not sure the Timber-wolves would let RD adopt Scootaloo...

If you have any shows/films to reccomend then by all means, but I'm set as far as books go XD
