R Obotnic in this version impresed me instead that buffon from rest of Sonic. He wasn't that dump in series (he have villain many times but not always) and way he takeover world was brilliant.

There's Blazing Sword, FE 7, and Sacred Stones. I has the cart for Sacred Stones, it's easy for a Fire Emblem game.

Speaking of FE, how's progress on the Pony Emblem fangame?

Admittedly War Minister Julian's plan to take over the throne with a surprisingly bloodless coup was executed nearly as flawlessly as possible. He still loses points for being even less competent than the Original Eggman for being hilariously bad at dealing with Sonic, and there's only a couple of his plans that were anywhere near successful. Also his generic pollution ploys are all stupid, Eggman is superior for having built his theme park of his dreams successfully multiple times.

The current Archie Eggman and the Sonic X version are almost equally good, though suffer different extremities (Archie Eggman is two one dimentionally evil, albeit still charismatic, while Sonic X Eggman was too pitiful and as interesting as his more sympathetic persona was, it was taken to a point he may as well have been a good guy).

Games Eggman is the perfect mix of a formidable yet likeable villain.

@Death Cloud: I don't hate FIM villains, it's just most of them seem very one note evil, they have less sympathetic motives or drives, even the more petty bully characters. They just seem to be there to be jerks. Only Discord really had small depth to him, and maybe Nightmare Moon, though she was less charismatic.

who is this "Eggman" of which you speak, sounds a lot like Robotnik, but with a dumber name.

I never played games but most time Robotnic or Eggmen was 'meh' for me as villain, unlike in Sat AM.

I use name Robotnik because Sat AM is only Sonic thing what I'm fan of (I wish they make something like this again, but better).

@Death Cloud: Sat Am was pretty cool in places, and Julian wasn't that bad, but it suffered a lot of development problems. I've already pointed contrasts it had to FIM characters in places a bit earlier. Sally, Sonic and Bunnie are basically Twilight, RD and AJ, only more one note.

Eggman is the JPN name/modern nickname for Robotnik. Also looks like they ditched the UK continuity of his original family name being Kintobor given the events of Adventure 2. Gerald Robotnik is a defectee from the Soviet Union who escaped to the GUN nations to escape a Soviet purge. (Robotnik is a total Russian name)

The antagonists of FiM are quite interesting, mind, hopefully we get more Gilda/Trixie/Changelings next season.

I like the FIM villains, I just wish they'd give them more of a proper drive, hense why I'd like to see a more sympathetic villain. Even Diamond Tiara seems one note nasty.

I honestly have never thought Eggman was a good villain. He bored me in the old games and I haven't really seen many of his new roles. Psi's giving some convincing arguments, though. Which game is Sa Ta M?

Is generations any good?

There are different forms of villainy, and being the most competent and evil isn't neccesarily the best, I tend to prefer a compromise of both sympathetic and threatening, hense the games Eggman is one of the best to me. Clownish, sympathetic Hidden Depths yet at the same time an enormous case of Beware the Silly Ones.

I just thought his pwning Sonic, but still in a completely over the top and whimsical manner, was an ingenius scene.

"WOO HOO HOO! Ohhh, I've waited a long time for this....*pirouettes* FIRE!!!!!"

Ironically the more realistic Eggman in Next Gen sucked. Less whimsical charm but actually more ineffective a baddie.

The Stinger was arguably the best cutscene in Generations. I won't reveal too much but it is definitely the best because of Eggman.

yeah SAT AM was an all to short cartoon. It pretty much was based on the comics, not the games.

I thought the comics were based on the show, not the other way around.

@seraphem: Actually it was vise versa, the comics were initially based on early drafts for the show and then changed accordingly.
