It ain't incest because they aren't biologically related [lol]

@ Sereg: I have noticed, I'm liking File Under I a bit more than The Night After.

[up][up] But they think they were raised as sisters so it counts. I think.

I don't think they'd have the biological conditioning whatever that real sisters have

The conditioning that you're probably referring to, called the Westermarck Effect, is psychological rather than physical. It happens in friends that have been friends since they were babies or otherwise raised together, and it fails to manifest in twins that were separated from birth or something.

I always thought that siblings who were raised apart would find themselves attracted to each other if they met in later life or something

Curacao acknowledged that they're all adopted to AJ. Whether the other 5 think that exact thing or not is open to interpretation given the fact she's a deciever by nature. They do all refer to one another as sisters, so...

Then again, Magic is flippin weird, who knows if it altered their biology in the warping process so that they're all legitimately sisters, and biological daughters of Nihila and Silvertongue. Mind Screw guys!

I'm sure that the mean 6 know that they aren't actually sisters, at least by blood relation. They just think they were all adopted.

I wonder if anyone cares about incest in Pandemonium anyway.

Pretty much, yeah. At least according to theory.

Pandemonium's taboos seem to be akin to ours, like nudity and all, but then again. That thought almost makes you glad Lockwood's mom passed while he was so young, given her obsession with using him as an expy for his dad.

Geez, iPod, stop typing badly.

This does sometimes happen due to the absense of the Westermarck effect. There are several competing instincts which are supposed to balance out to being attracted to people who are the right distance from you as far as relatedness is concerned.

The Westermarck effect is one of those instincts, so it's absense results in being attracted to people more closely related to you than normal.

EDIT: Pandemonium's tboos seem mostly engineered to maximise inconvenience. So restricting acceptable love interests is likely, but I'm unsure in which way. After all, in some cultures, it was considered more appropriate to marry a relative for certain situations (mainly for royalty).

Is there any inherantly evil alignment?

I know that there are 4 types of magic. Light, Dark, Void and Arcane. and there are two allignments within each of those magics: Law and Chaos. I know there can be evil Light wielders (Silvertongue for example) and presumably good dark wielders.

but the fic still seems to be implying that Dark Chaotic = Always Chaotic Evil

At least he's not like Blutsauger and kept cloning data on them to create a harem.

Wait, That's what he kept the data for? That is unpleasant...

@ Dark: I think Pandemonium's taboos are are more like the opposite of Equestria's rather than like ours.

@Ginger: It's implied that Luna use a good user of dark chaotic magic.

@Cookoo: Silvertongue implied it, and given the city's reputation I wouldn't be surprised.

@ Ginger: Tick Tock says early on that Luna is a practitioner of Chaotic Magic and so will become more powerful since the Elements are no longer in Equestria.

I want to see where the Curie/Insipid angle goes, really. The two are perfect together.

@Bad: Gilderoy explicity says TT is full of crap and the magic she thought was 'Chaos' is actually 'Dark', so I'd take that with a grain of salt. Hell I'd take anything HE said with a grain of salt too, be's already been proven wrong on the topic of Ophanim, who he had a hand in creating.

Huh, don't remember that.

Sigh, authors. ALWAYS inventing excuses to make Luna more useful than Celestia. First FOE, now this

[up]Fanfic writers always abuse Celestia in some way.

I wouldn't say she's more useful. We did see Celestia actively holding Discord's seal, no word on Luna yet. Also, Whooves has obviously been doing research on the Elements, which implies his earlier information was guesswork.

I like that the author makes it so you don't know who to listen to for accurate information. Keeps you guessing, keeps debate ongoing.
gingerninja 666 avatar
#205449 from Aboard The Damocles
But is it active Clestia dislike? Or is it active Luna favouritism? Or is it a desire to use Luna more since she isn't used in the show? Is it a desire to knock Tia down a peg?

What? It's just frustrating

[up]I don't thing it's dislike. It more like attempt to write (dark) story, and writers do it in worst possible way.
