@Apple: It goes... alright. I've checked out three places, only one of them is appealing at all and even then it's just kind of meh. Not objectionable, but not stellar.

Every place I look at feels like a downgrade from my last apartment somehow, despite going from two bedrooms to four. The places feel much older, and much more cramped. I guess it might just be the way the city is. The only way I'm going to get something that feels open or modern is by getting a downtown apartment, and I'd prefer a more residential place so that's not going to happen. I mean, unless I find a place that's just straight up a house, but eh.

Keg: Haven't apartment hunted, but I have helped friends look for houses, which should be pretty close. It was interesting because the house economy here is so out of whack that a junky bungalow in a half-decent neighbourhood runs $200k. Anything bigger and/or in a better neighbourhood is closer to $400k, if not more. :/

Well there's one story arc in The Spectacular Spider-Man that partially focuses on a three way war in the criminal underworld for control of New York City. Prior to that one villian was trying to overthrow the top dog in the criminal underworld and take his place. Of course the best part about Spectacular was watching Norman Osborn be a chessmaster/bastard of the highest order.

Drenius: Define decent. To clarify on my side, said junky bungalow is typically a barely cared for 600 sq ft house. $400k is for anywhere between 800-1000 sq ft (tends more toward 800 for a better neighbourhood).

EDIT: Keg: Ah, yes, waterfront property... we'd probably be at about that price too if we had any water.
