How the hay did you beat goddess at a low level?

edit: In other news compared to the statues the final boss seemed rather easy. Phase 2 was the most difficult for me but phase 4 was stupidly easy once I remembered where the Ultima threshold was.

The Goddess statue? I did some level grinding to sustain more damage. My party is at a level where their HP is around 2000. If I recall, I had Flutters, AJ, Twi, and Pinkie. Everypony but Pinkie had some item that prevented the zombie countdown thing. Flutters, attacked, AJ spoke her Royal Voice, Twi attacked and healed, and Pinkie cat scratched.

@Steve: I heard about offering, but opted not to get it. Hearing Colin say "I've never been able to kill the monster that drops the offering relic" didn't give me the confidence to try. I didn't use the fixed dice until the final boss fight. I did, however, have the gengi glove (the relic that dual wields weapons) and got some pretty nice damage.

Catscratch doesn't break the Fixed Dice? Awesome.

Genji glove (Otherwise known as Magnet Hoof) was pretty damn useful against nightmare. Until Nightmare made itself immune to all elements which effectively negated one of pinkies weapons. I persevered through stubborness and massive use of elixirs/Granny Smith Apples/ Life 2.

On the final boss I had a magic kill squad and derpy (Stupid instant kill effect nailing Trixie at the end of phase 3 *Grumble*). Faust is so damn useful.

I tend to stick to non-elemental weapons for Pinkie if possible. How's the Meteor spell, still expensive to cast?

Also I am going to the Ancient Castle Underground next tonight after work.

Meteor isn't too bad to cast at 62 mp cost. However I was too busy spamming ultima and reaping mana with osmose to care.

I'm going to power-level some of my team a little. Pinkie is utterly going to wreck stuff with the ol' dual-wield x-fight combo.

@Steve: For Nightmare, I ate her magic away with rasp (she only has 5000mp). After that, I had Luna summon Phantom and turn everypony invisible. I then had Twi*, Scoots, and Sweetie go all out with magic, soar, and sketch.

• Yes, I know I said I had Twi in the Goddess fight. Thinking now, I think I had Trixy in that fight instead.

As for the final boss, my oh my was it a dozy. I had Pinkie, Luna, Trixy, and Flutters. I had no softs to cure stone so the first two tiers were pretty annoying. The first's only issues was that it hurt for a lot. The second... I hate 10 hits and the fact that everyone moves way to fast for me to keep up. The third was nothing to worry about. The last, I rasped Discord dry so he wouldn't use Goner or Ultima.

@Steve: Hay, if it meant not dealing with Ultima, then I'm happy.

Remedy doesn't cure stone and no, I forgot to buy status healing items.

Fun fact: Morphing Twi and having her fire off double-powered single-target Rasps should get you some massive Rasp numbers :D

Also I need to buy more restoratives, and top up my stack of 99 red delicious apples.

@Orion Remedy does cure stone. I know I have done it.

@Ace: I tried that and I didn't see much difference. Against Nightmare, Fire Twi and normal Twi dealt around 2000 with rasp. Maybe there was more damage with Fire Twi, like 2500, but I was expecting 3000-4000.

And I recall it not working. Maybe I should go back and check.

Anyways I did not 100% complete the game, I missed several espers, Only killed one dragon (That happened to be in my way), Did not do much of ANYTHING in the colloseum, did not do ancient castle nor that one cave with Sweetie and Rarity.

It's tricky planning ahead. I wonder if I should trade in something for a second Wonderbolt Badge.
