@Ginger considering an encounter with Nihila and Silvertongue is almost a guarantee at this point you might have some satisfaction. God help us all if the creator decides that No-Holds-Barred Beatdown Curb-Stomp Battle is just what the Mane Cast needs.

Hey guys!

I woke up this morning, and The Great and Powerful Trixie gave me a list of spoilers for Season Three! Unfortunately they were written on a magical scroll that disappeared as soon as I finished reading and I can't recall all 26 episodes, but here's the ones that stood out most to me:

  • Princess Celestia switches jobs with Luna for a cycle and it turns out they're better at each other's jobs.
  • It turns out Twilight Sparkle is actually a man.
  • Flutterponies appear.
  • There was an episode where Fluttershy gets married, and half the Bronies cancel their Hub subscriptions in protest.

Too bad the proof disappeared with the wind...

@Seraph Well, as I said, the combination of Velvet getting frustrated and Pinkie's antics is what's making ME frustrated.

Regardless of the context, that's what's causing my displeasure

You see, though, this isn't so much a problem with Pinkie, IMO, as it is with Pinkie being forced into a genre not intended for her, with very little compensation made to make her a bit more believable. Of course, this is just what I've gathered from the endless discussion of the subject here, and I could be entirely wrong.

@Moe sounds sketchy. I thought Trixie only Communed with Sethisto...

On the other hand it seems legit. I have seen many magical scrolls in my life and know a thing or two about random acts of magic.

Dnd characters count as me for purpose of Scrolls Read right?

Oh, I almost started cheering when Velvet was about to crush Pinkie's head like a fucking beer can... then almost snapped my new kindle when she was suddenly completely fine

@Moe: I get the feeling that Twilight turning out to be a man would cause just as much trouble as Fluttersy getting married. I could actually see the show doing something similar to the other two episodes, though.

A mutation of Poison joke that turns the entire cast male. But hey why make an episode about something that the Fanfic Authors already do in great detail?

@Lurker She can do pretty much anything as long as she finds it funny and she's happy enough (rolls eyes)

I have to admit that Poison Joke turning everybody male would be hilarious, but fanfic has done that sort of thing to death. I would like to see another Poison Joke episode, though. Maybe one where Spike gets hit with it.

I'm kinda tired of the Pinkie-bashing too. Bottom line is I like the Pinkie from "Feeling Pinkie Keen, " "Party of One, " "Baby Cakes, " and maybe the one from "Putting Your Hoof Down." The one who is actually vulnerable and has real emotions. "It's About Time" and possibly "The Last Roundup" are a textbook case of how not to do Pinkie, in this viewer's opinion.

(Well, I read a version of the Kama Sutra once that described another way to do Pinkie, and I came away saying "Ponies don't work that way!" so maybe there is another wrong way to Do Pinkie, but that's not the kind of thing I was talking about).

Maybe they could make a Call Back to the poison joke during a brewing montage where one of the ingredients needed is Poison Joke (and in the background of the montage we see spike being affected by it or something)

[up] I'm bashing her in this fic where I personally find her insufferable

Yeah, my opinion of Pinkie basically wavers depending on how well the episode handles her. In the better episodes (Party of One, Baby Cakes) there's more depth to the character and she has some motivations for why she wants to party all the time.

I wish to see Irony Appreciation Pony being hit by Poison Joke.

Hi Miss Cheerilee.

We're talking about the Kama Sutra. Pinkie wants to borrow it to learn how to Do the Mario.

Well, it really depends on how much the episode focuses on her. If she's not an important character in the episode, why should she be put through an emotional gauntlet just so you can say that her character was used effectively?

[up]What.

I hope they don't just do another Poison Joke episode. It'd smack of lack of ideas and it wasn't funny the first time (to me).
Life is simple: it has no nontrivial normal subgroups.

Pffft, Pinkie WROTE the pony version of the Kama Sutra (and her and Blossomforth tested to see if it was all possible) [lol]

@Lurker. Simple: Don't have her be obnoxious

Ah well, back to yelling at Devnator over Pinkie [lol]

@Ginger Pinkie being obnoxious is an established character trait, though, to the point that it has been both weaponized and the driving force for the plot of an entire episode. If she were to suddenly become much more reserved and "normal", then she would be rather OOC, IMO.
