@steve I'd love that.

@ Ginger, turns her fight with Red into a Super Smash Bros. match, with her as Captain Falcon. Get's her ass kicked in round 1, PINKIE PAUNCH's her and wins round 2, round three was pretty even till it got interrupted.

What about stuff like the sword?

@ Ginger: Oh yeah Briefly shows up. She does some bizarre thing that I didn't understand, fails to get it and it gets stolen by her past self. I think.

Anyway, you need to remember that you're not alone.

Having not read the series in it's entirety myself the sword gag seems to be a reference to 8-Bit Theatre
Apocalypse: Dirge Of Swans.

yeah, even for me that part was a bit to WTF.

oh plus the fight will be intercutting with scenes of AJ being extremely badass.

[up] pretty much

Eh, in general I've prefered Pinkie's later portrayel. Episodes like Party of One and Baby Cakes were good for her.

But Moe and I apparently have incredibly different tastes and opinions.

EDIT: Pinkie found a sword and was challenged by her past self for it using dice rolls. Her past self won and so she got to steal it.

The worst is the way Pinkie acts. Her casual matter-of-fact approach to her antics makes me want to punch her [lol]

To me, Pinkie is slowly becoming less Cartoon character, and more human (well, pony). We just need a good down to earth episode for her now.

Pinkie I admit comes off the most one dimentional in a comparative case, since the other ponies have a few more realistic traits to balance their wacky ones. Stand alone, I think she's okay, she could use some more layers of depth and her comic relief does get kinda obnoxious at times, but her spotlight episodes develop her a bit, especially since, like other lead ponies, she's made into a Butt Monkey and gains pathos a lot of the time (A Friend In Deed was in fact my first fully watched episode).

Also the world doesn't always cater to her whim in Season Two, she's made to look rather dumb in Mmmystery. I just think they're trying to add a two sided dimention to her eccentricness and Twilight being her Cloud Cuckoolanders Minder. I find it more milti faceted than the usual scenario of the Straight Man always being right and Pinkie's craziness always being wrong (or vise versa).

@Ginger I have a question, in CRISIS, does Pinkie's antics being magic, and not Pinkie being random make you more or less annoyed with her?

@Cookoo I'd... disagree with that.

Or if she is becoming more human, then she's not the sort of person I'd ever want to be friends with sad

Compare how Twilight reacts to her at the beginning of "Griffon the Brush-Off" to how almost the entire world reacts to her in "It's About Time" or "A Friend In Deed" for example...

What's the difference?

@Cookoo More annoyed... MUCH more annoyed, because the rules that dictate her powers are COMPLETELY arbitrary, but she's pretty much a god with them anyway, and her powers LITERALLY only work as dictated by the plot.

[up][up]In GBO the characters reacted to her with varying degrees of enjoyment , acceptance and annoyance. In A Fi D every pony is apparently her friend, and I have no idea with It's About Time.

meh I like it better that there is some rules and explanation for her power.

[up] again by "everypony is her freind" that's using PINKIE'S diffention of freind, which is much MUCH loser then the normal, to her "Friend" prety much means "Anypony I know that is not openly hostile to me."

I suppose for a more 'down to earth' episode, they could pair her with another even crazier character than herself, which could show her clarity without making her turn OOC. Sorta like Spongebob with Patrick.

Well for one thing, AFID was from Pinkie's point of view. Her definition of friend is not the same as others.

@@Seraph those weren't rules.

AJ's powers, those have rules.

Like I said, Pinkie still needs a down to earth episode, Like party of one but instead having fear for her friends perhaps?

[up]Most magic rules seem arbitrary to me in some form, not just Pinkie's.

We need an episode where Pinkie doesn't act OTT silly even once.

I think it would actually have been interesting to contrast Pinkie's definition of friend with someone else's.

[up]That's a rather tall order, since she is the designated Loony Toon for the writers and animator's to play with. The temptation to use her as such is probably to great.
