I can't imagine life without my car now. The ability to just go where I want when I want is pretty great.

Indeed. The good thing about my car is that the insurance is actually in my name, so I don't have to let anyone else drive it ^^

I love public transportation. It's so handy.

Anyway, I just finished watching the first episode of Interceptor. Yes, I did just follow my own recommendation.

And now I'm tired. Good night.

The villain drives the story. A story is only as good as its villain.
Counter-example: Flowers for Algernon (because I recently finished it and it's awesome and you should read it if you haven't). Who's the villain? Who drives the story? Dr. Strauss? Dr. Nemur? Algernon?

Thinking that all stories need a villain is, I think, an ignorant notion.
Am I hurting? Am I sad? Should I stay or should I go?
I've forgotten how to tell. Did I ever even know?

How big is the engine?

My car is a tiny 1.4l...but it flies off the starting position and corners like a house fly.

Dark Link: That depends. I think the villain often makes the main bulk, but it's the heroes chemistry and conflicts that give it an extra depth. Mario is reliant on villains largely because the main protagonists are more one dimentional than the villains.

That's why I hate stories with bland heroes. I think it's often their depth that makes the story charming. Take that away and you just have a generic good vs evil battle.

How does this answer the question?

And Goodnight, Bad.

@Kyler and guess what?

I don't like flowersForAlgernon (though that might be because it's too sad for me, not because it lacks a villain)

I don't think all media NEEDS a villain, I'm just MORE interested in the media that does.

I thought you were Welsh, Ginger.

Anyways, the Tube SUCKS in the early morning commute from the area around West Ham Stadium. Every morning you're packed in there like sardines...I can see why the subway bombings were so devastating (no offense to any Englishmen/women intended)

I've got it, Ginger should see Waiting For Godot.

Ginger is British? Hey Ginger, how accurate/tolerable would you say Tick Tock's 'accent' is? I think she's too stereotypically Brit myself but it's always nice to here what an actual Brit would think.

@crow I can't plan for crap. Also, several of them have been vehemently anti-brony.

@story To the Welsh it's not.

@Kyler: Yeah, a villain isn't necessary, conflict is necessary, and a villain is a common way of doing that.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Gogo got replaced by Fausticorn because of the whole "can use everybody else's moves" thing.

I wasn't talking about you specifically, Ginger. Sheesh. Stop making everything about you.

Yes, you like villains, and that's fine. You would love stories with villains in them. I'm just saying that not all stories need a villain (some just wouldn't even work with one), and if I had to hazard a guess, those are stories you wouldn't enjoy and that I wouldn't recommend specifically to you. But I like them, so there.

I automatically equate "British" to "English", ignorant American that I am any of you make a crack against America and I will END YOU. Wales actually is a separate country though, so I'm technically right tongue

I like several things that have no villain. I normally have to be FORCED to watch them and I never want to rewatch them again though [lol]
