It seems like saccharine cartoons are becoming cool in the recent years. We've had recent revivals of Disney media like Mickey Mouse and Winnie the Pooh and now to go with Friendship Is Magic, a Care Bears show. Pretty much a period for older viewers to exploit enjoying cute shows out open.

I suppose it's a change from all the Darker and Edgier stuff in the nineties.

@Orion: Sounds a little like that Spongebob episode where he learns to be 'normal'.

eh, it might be mostly me, I HATE HATE HATE, Ginger levels of HATE when writers just throw in stupid inter-party drama that could be solved instantly if everyone would just sit down and TALK to each other. Or in RD's case just stop being a hard headed stubborn plot-hole for no reason for 5 minutes.

I think that the way the show usually does it is a bit different from the scenario that Seraphem was talking about. The show itself works because that sort of conflict is the entire point of the show, and it's specifically built to work that way. The conflict there is almost always justified; there are misunderstandings, but they're usually misunderstanding that don't require the cast members to be idiots.
