Using the gel was pretty fun. Bouncing around, flying off stages, and usually dying afterwards...

The eyes, they move.

Yeah, I would consider playing Fighting is Magic. Because, y'know, ponies.

Well, I still want to see a third Left 4 Dead game come out {Never got to play Half-life, so I can't say anything about Half-life 3}.tongue

Mash buttons, win/lose, pull your teeth out to make something exciting happen, rinse and repeat.

[up] Still waiting for HL 3......it's been 8 years now, Valve.......

You should play HL 2. It's one of the best shooters I've ever played.

@Swasfews: If you aren't interested in refining your technique and getting into the metagame, they're pretty repetitive. Mostly I just go in with a few moves that I repeat a lot. Granted that's my problem for not delving into the deeper strategies, but I just don't have any desire to.

@Swasfews "Oh in case you got covered in that repulsion gel here's some advice the lab boys gave me."

"Do not get covered in the repulsion gel. We haven't entirely nailed down what element it is yet but I'll tell you this. It's a lively one, and it does not like the human skeleton."

Half-Life 2 (plus episodes) currently rests at the #1 spot on my greatest games of all time list. No need for Valve to rush the sequel. It'll be done when it's done.

Fighting games are one of those genres where you're either really into them and all the complex nuances, or you just mash buttons and wind up getting bored after awhile because you can't see what the big deal is.

It's okay, I understand that.

Ginger could still watch television based on fighting games though. If he wants great villains, none do it better than M. "This is DELICIOUS!" Bison.

That's pretty much how I view fighting games as well. The only one I could ever really get into was Super Smash Bros.

What are we discussing now, anyway?

It started with what non-RPG games Ginger would like, then it derailed into games in general.

You don't mash buttons if you want to do well. Some of them punish you for button mashing. The Touhou ones have a limit to what you can do at once, for instance.

I don't care to get into metagames or anything, but button mashing isn't the way to play them. I've been into U Mv C 3 and Skullgirls recently. I can understand the repetitiveness, but eh. I guess it's the same reasons I'm not a fan of games like Starcraft. Different tastes and stuff.

I could never really get into Half-Life. I play it occasionally, and my friend keeps telling me it's good, but I just can't get interested in the world.

@JT. Careful about calling SSB a fighting game. Super huge fighting game fans would be upset at you for that. tongue

[up][up]It's a game where the point is for your character to beat up the other characters, that's close enough to a fighting game. Probably helps that I loathe having to memorize any combos that are longer than 3 buttons.

There was a tongue for a reason. Also, you don't have to memorize combos to play most of them. I do pretty well without them.

I kinda like Smash Bros.

But, having not grown up on Nintendo, I didn't know who half the characters were. (who the fudge Christ is Ike? And Lucas. And where the hell is Mewtwo?)

Hello everyone. I haven't talked to any of you for a while. Who would have thought packing every single tiny thing I possess and putting it in a bag or box would take a long time tongue

[up] Oh yeah. I saw that... Well, I guess Rarity is now my number 2 sistah.

@ Purple: Ike is the greatest of people. He fights for his friends. He slays the unslayable. He can single-handedly defeat a nation.

Don't care about Lucas, though. And Mewtwo's spot was stolen by Lucario.
