Well, I mean it just wasn't immediate enough to trigger her stare-response. So it was regular stress, making her fall back on fear, yeah. Anything super dangerous and she probably would have taken charge.

Even then she only took charge against monsters that she knew she could beat (with her stare). I don't think she could take charge against Discord, he's too powerful.

I still can't believe he was able to steal their powers that easily. Discord is by far the most powerful being we have seen so far. I doubt the stare would have affected him.

Today was my birthday. I was out with friends, but all I could think about was getting home to see the S2 premiere. Yes, I'm aware of the irony of wanting to ditch your friends to go home to watch a show about the magic of friendship, so don't bother pointing that out.

Anyway, I watched it. I thought about it. And what I think I can safely say, without any doubt is, YES! OMG F*CKIN' AWESOME YES YES YES YEEEEESSSSSSS!

OMG, that Discord? That Discord, Bronies? OMG, that Discord!!! Flutterbitch?!! Lairjack?!! Greedity?!! Sulkie Pie?!! Rainbow Ditch?!! I WASN'T READY, BUT I WAS HAPPY!!!

I think that I'm going to REALLY enjoy the next 20 odd weeks!

I considered the story of Celestia and Luna vs. Discord to be sort of an earlier part of Equestria's Creation Myth. Basically showing how the world was a chaotic place where Discord could do whatever he wanted until Celestia and Luna established order.

Also, a disharmonized Doctor Whooves would clearly be the Time Pony Victorious.

Discord schooled EVERYONE!! See, Nightmare Moon? THAT'S how you pry apart relationships. You couldn't even deal with 6 ponies who weren't even friends at the time. Discord dealt with them EFFORTLESSLY!!

Well, he may have a point - a lot of people don't like the CMC, but most of the fandom is pretty okay with them, or even like them. The only resentment they get is from being the Spotlight Stealing Squad, at any rate.
